Almost every car forum has this thread, I searched and didn't see one so here we go!

Usually this type of thread serves as the town square of the model forum.

Today I got my Type S back from ceramic coating, tint and xpel installation.

  • 35% legal MA tint on the drivers windows
  • Air 80 on the full windshield, sunroof and all other windows
  • Xpel Ultimate on the full front bumper, headlights, mirror caps, and B/C pillars
  • Ceramic Pro coating on the entire car, wheels, interior carpet and leather.

  • Type S side and rear de-badge
  • Black vinyl over the passenger airbag light
  • JB4 tuner

Unfortunately, Like a Good Daddy , had to Loan my 22 MDX Advance to my younger son> His 2017 Jeep GC is in the shop with some Tranny problems (hiccups and erratic shifts). He bought it as a CPO used 2 years ago this July. Smartly, he took the Extended Warranty (with Consultation with me). The Jeep dealer has a notice into the Regional office for a new Tranny. The Warranty, if Approved (?) grants the use of a loaner But none are available , and the policy does not give a loaner during the "evaluation" period. So as a retiree, I let my son have my MDX so to avoid an expensive rental and get to work!. Your Kids are Your Kids for The Rest of Your Life. He and his wife and 2 Kids just bought a house in October which requires lots of work and $$$$$$. As the old Esso Gas (then Exxon) gas stations would say: Happy Motoring!
I installed them yesterday with velcro similar to Euro. Should be no issue using the third row, but I did not want them permanently installed. They do cover the access to the armrest storage bins.
Velcro holds well, but I did need to use some glue to ensure a better bond to the protectors.
Another benefit of the protector is that there is far less movement of the cargo tray.
^^^What he said.
If @Type$ didn't have them installed already, I highly recommend the velcro approach. Drilling the interior is just to invasive and permanent for me when there are viable alternatives. Also, as Maik pointed out, you lose access to the cup holders. With the velcro install, if I were traveling with people (little people) in the third row, I can just pull the side protectors out.

The entire process of applying about 8-9 velcro squared on the back of the protectors and sticking them in place took maybe an hour at most. Peeling the backing off the velcro was the most difficult part.

@Maik - I put the better velcro material on bottom of the cargo tray on the front section leaving the fold up area loose. With proper velcro and the side protectors, the tray doesn't even budge. It's all good now! I can stand back and throw my golf clubs back there without worrying about damaging the interior.

It's what we dads do. Of course you help your responsible son. However, you clearly missed on advising him away from the Jeep! :p

Finally put a dash camera in, only front. Ran a flat USB cable from the "option 5" 10amp fuse (I installed a fuse tap for the usb cable rated at 5 amps) under driver foot well up to rear view camera area. Had to install boost converter to step down 12v to 5v under the dash. The usb cable has a female end, so I can plug any camera or devices into it. I waited awhile for the rear view camera tap adapters but got tired of waiting.

Only screw had I to remove was for the a pillar cover behind the airbag plastic cover, otherwise tucked the flat cable into the headliner. Very easy to revert back if needed.
Brand New MDX owner here. I bought a Certified Used 2022 MDX Advanced last week. Had the dealer add roof rack crossbars and a factory trailer hitch as part of the deal. Previously had Lexus RX350’s and I find the MDX to be a nice change. I’m loving pretty much everything about this car so far. There’s a very nice dealership near my home in Florida where I live 1/2 the year but sadly it’s over 90 miles to the nearest dealer from my summer place in North Carolina. I hope this car is as reliable as I expect it to be!
I vacuumed today and you won’t believe how many hidden treasures you find inside your toddler car seat cushions.

Installed PRL charge pipes. Pass side was super easy. Driver side lower was a PITA. I ended up taking splash shield off bottom and getting the bolt for the clamp off from below. Havent driven it yet so don't know if I will "feel" a difference.

The pipes/hoses in your first picture indicate that the stock one seems bigger than the PRL ones. In the second picture, the PRL appear slightly larger. What are the advantages to this mod? Is it primarily because the tune is designed for these hoses?

If you touch the stock tubes they are extremely soft, I haven't mounted a camera in the engine bay to check but I wouldn't be surprised if they collapse significantly under boost.

The PRL pipes are fully rigid.
And the purpose of all this is, what?
One other main reason for the prl charge pipes is to be a step ahead while waiting for the prl intercooler upgrade, as I could imagine a few are. And it’s something to install on the car prior to waiting as well.

Got the cargo protection package installed. Opted for the full installation, as this is our camping and road trip vehicle; we would always leave it in, rarely use the 3rd row, and will beat it up with camping/rafting/fishing/boating gear regardless.
A number of people said the Velcro method came off a lot, so the drill installation is what we needed!
Happy Sunday MDX fam 🌄🕺😎

So, my task seriously pales in comparison to the previous posts but, I finally swapped the TuxMats for the carpet ones. I can tell you this, the TuxMats in the front cover so completely that I barely had to vacuum after removal. The carpet in front is still factory clean/new looking.

Did first oil change at the dealer at 6,200 miles. I don't have time to do this kind of maint anymore. Made a mistake and paid for that engine and gas treatment for $50, thought that was included in their $130 oil change price. For waiting 2 hours standard service time, they could of least cleaned up their oil splash on my engine cover and air guards. Ended up doing their clean up job , while putting back the JB4.

Inatalled running boards and splash guards. Upon posting to social media someine told me I got the wrong splash guards and that I need the gloss black ones to match the trim. So going to get the correct ones

Yes there are gloss black ones, but they get pretty beat up being gloss in that position. (have had mine on since purchase)

It doesnt look that bad with them matching the running boards.
If it was me I would leave them. If it still bothered you down the road then switch 'em later.
Yeh Im gonna just leave them. Dealer said since I installed them they cant take them back plus if they gloss they going to get all.chipped up and look like trash. They do match the running boards. Thanks for the advice guys!
