Almost every car forum has this thread, I searched and didn't see one so here we go!

Usually this type of thread serves as the town square of the model forum.

Today I got my Type S back from ceramic coating, tint and xpel installation.

  • 35% legal MA tint on the drivers windows
  • Air 80 on the full windshield, sunroof and all other windows
  • Xpel Ultimate on the full front bumper, headlights, mirror caps, and B/C pillars
  • Ceramic Pro coating on the entire car, wheels, interior carpet and leather.

Other mods that I have done:
  • Black chrome A and MDX badges
  • Type S side and rear de-badge
  • Black vinyl over the passenger airbag light
  • JB4 tuner
Nice work! I kept it pretty simple today and just added some more bass to the stock system.

nice lol

Quite a few MA folks on here - kind of cool to see. We should select a car show at some point in the future and meet up. Glad to see a thread that captures the enthusiast side of things and not just complaints (there’s a lot to complain about to - I completely understand).

Got my MDX back in July of last year just as everything was going bonkers - but still got a damn good deal on it. It has been a labor of love since - all work has been completed by me except for the remote start, heated wheel, tint, and PPF. Everything I’ve done so far:

Accessories/Package Add-ons
  • Black Premium Plus Package (Remote Start, Black Roof Rails, HFA Sensor/Attachment)
  • Premium Sports A-Spec Package (Heated Steering Wheel, All Emblems Dark Chrome, Black Chrome Lug Nuts, A-Spec Premium floor mat)
  • Illumination Plus Package (A-Spec Illuminated Door Sills, Cargo Sill Trim, Welcome Lights)
  • Running Boards
  • Cargo Net
  • All season A-Spec floor mats
  • A-Mark Floor Light Projectors
  • Lower Lip Trims (didn’t end up installing the rear ones)
  • 21” Type S shark gray wheels wrapped in 285s
  • 35% Tint
  • Xpel PPF

Custom Work
  • Replaced grill surround with color matched
  • Replaced Matte A-Spec grille with gloss black Tech trim grille
  • Custom mount A-Spec badge on the grille
  • Wrapped front lower lip in matte black to match black plastic trim
  • Added Advance Ambient lighting to door pockets, front dash, and center console
  • Custom mounted the welcome lights under the running boards so they would still work

Work to be done
- Ordered a Type S “diffuser“ with the smaller exhaust cutouts so the quad tips will look a little cleaner (it’s on backorder until 2028…haha)

Just got done with my first pass of a ceramic wax last weekend. Will do another pass today or tomorrow if time permits. I will also try and get pictures once some sunshine comes out. Most of these pics below were taken back in March:

Congrats on a beautiful vehicle. Awesome modes and sooo clean. I really need to wash mine more often. Mine is all black type s adv,.

Today I installed the spare tire kit, did a wheel tire rotation, checked the brake pad and tire wear, changed the oil and oil filter, replaced the air filter with a K&N air filter and also replaced the cabin filter. Verified all fluid levels and topped off the coolant and windshield wiper fluids.

How bad is the ride when you drop the MDX using lowering links?

They say the drop is 3in, is that really true? I'll have to go out with a tape measure and see what that would do. Seems like a lot!
I dont think there was3 inches to drop on the type s to begin with . I think there claim of a 3 inch drop if from oem comfort mode height to the new lowered sports mode height. I forgot to take measurements of the oem comfort mode wheel gap to the lowered comfort mode gap. But even with the links installed there is still an inch or more wheel gap so 🤷‍♂️

How bad is the ride when you drop the MDX using lowering links?
Not bad at all, since the links are adjustable you can raise the links to add more comfort. I currently have them at the shortest possible settings on the link. I believe it’s a 1.5 to 1.75 inch drop from oem at most. Ride quality has been effect a little, best way to describe the feeling of the suspension is that if there was a mode between normal and sports this would be it. I do plan on raising the suspension/link to give another half an inch height. I am sure this will add more comfort as well the clearance I would need to fit some 22's on the vehicle with a nice flush look

First oil change. I put the car on lift mode and cranked the wheel to the right. Plenty of access to the filter. I used the specialty Snap On tool and had no spillover on the suspension. The rubber tube is way too long, need to trim it for next time.

My last several cars have had top mount filters, so I’ve used an extractor. Gave it a try on the S and got a little over 4.5 quarts. Not happy, I pulled the drain plug. Filter + plug were 3/4 of a quart. So a little more than 5.25 quarts. The black 5qt jug is from the extractor. The quart is the filter and what was leftover in the pan.

I really love that blue interior. I wish it had been available on our white Type S. Enjoy your new car.

Whenever I get a new vehicle, I've always felt that it's not really "mine" until the first hand wash. And even though I've had my type-S Advance almost two weeks, today is that day! (And while I know Lunar Silver isn't a premium color, it really does have a lot o' fleck that just shines in the sun. Plus, Azurite interior FTW!)
Anyway, it's new, it's clean, and now it's really mine! View attachment 131345

I installed a viper alarm system as someone broke into my car 12:30 a.m. My wife was unsettled so it gave her peace of mind. I also decided to add fibre optic LED lights to the car as it's the 22 Base SH-AWD. Finally I decided to change out the stock speakers and went with some Pioneers. All in all, it was an eventful day.
