Steering vibration when braking

Hi guys, new to the forum.
I have a 05 MDX around 55k miles. I have noticed steering vibration at around 40-50mph when I brake, at higher speed not so much and once it goes down to below 40mph there's not much vibration either.
What might be the cause of this? pads or rotors or both?
many thanks in advance.

It's usually due either to warped rotors, or rotors with uneven deposits of brake pad material on their surface. You can try "bedding" the brakes (going through a series of progressively harder stops to get the brakes really hot, then parking the car without using the brakes any more), but if that doesn't work, the solution is to either turn the rotors or replace them.
