There is no built-in SiriusXM because Acura partnered with Google. Google Assistant, Google Maps, and the Google Play Store are built in the 2025 interface. Google owns Spotify, so SiriusXM is a competing pay-per-month service and therefore only available via the phone/infotainment system.

Google doesn't own Spotify. It owns YouTube/YouTube Music.

Google wishes it owned Spotify for sure tho.

I just switched over to Spotify from Google play music and... it's just better. Way better auto generated playlists, plays new music for me that I actually like.

The data is that Terrestrial radio is dead...the trend is to streaming services and podcast content in addition to music..Sirius is the largest provider of that content. So the idea that someone at Acura didn't anticipate or value that trend of consumers preferences seems to be short sided..The cost at production of the automobile to add Sirius capability would be negligible so I doubt this was a cost decision...
as a follow up to my previous post regarding Sirus XM service I lodged a complaint with Acura they said too bad in not some many words. They have no plans to address this shortcoming. The whole google relationship is money driven to Acura which I am sure they are getting compensated for...they don't care about the down stream impact of this kind of a decision to their consumers.

I am frustrated beyond belief and I will not let this go until they figure out a work around.

I have been down this path, complaining to Corporate to the extent that the District Manager called me directly. They of course told me to stream SXM from my phone. Which for me doesn't work as I live in a remote area where cell phones seldom work. But there are city fokes who don't care because they live on the phone anyway.

I have posted a fix on one of the other discussions whereby you buy a tuner and route it into the OEM radio via the aux port located in the center console. It works! ... it's an SXM tuner that you tune from the main display. It's far from perfect, but it's a viable work around.

Does anyone know how to turn off the dark mode at night? I can't see the google maps during the day let alone at night all blacked out.
Here's an Android perspective; Apple should be similar but I'll let others chime in for that:

1. On your smartphone, search for Android Auto.
2. Once app launches, you should see options under "map" for default map appearance.

For reference, attached screenshots are from Android Auto version:
13.3.644654-release (133644654)

Smartphone:
Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G

Im not very smart anything, but I do know that the automotive versions of these apps are very basic compared to the android/apple phone versions. There is no SXM automotive version currently. You can download Spotify for example from the OEM display and IF you have an account you can stream music. Same with all the others.

The Google Map OEM version is also different than your phone, limited basic and featureless. I did find a reference in another post that turns the dark mode off.... a toggle switch next to your left knee. If you turn the brightness up on all of your dash... the map will stay bright at night. Probably too bright but dark is useless for old eyes.

For what its worth the streaming world has lots of options. Both youtube music and Pandora background-dowload music they think you like when you are within signal to play when out of signal range, but you need to be on a paid subscripton tier.

I've had Sirius since before it merged with XM and have always had aftermarket tuners, antennas can be mounted pretty discreetly. My rsx has the antenna mounted on the dash in the lower right corner of the windshield. I cancelled SiriusXM over a decade ago and switched to streaming, but still kept the antenna as I barely notice it and it is available if I want satellite back one day.

Streaming is OK (doesn't work without reception) but I still prefer punching a button on the dash (holding a device is illegal in many states). Choosing live weather, sports, and news as opposed to copied music is my preference. I have a 2025 with an add on receiver that works through the OEM selection.... but my 2018 MDX with the factory system was much better.

I use Spotify quite a bit at Home. Tidal too. Asa Resurrected "Player of Drums" at home since 2019 after a 50 Year Hiatus, I use Streamed Music to play along to. Just pick certain genres or artists and let the Services "drum up" [excuse the pun], the music.

I'm with Ya on this. I have to say, that I too miss the simplicity of Push Buttons for media selections like my old 19 MDX and many other Infinitis previous to that. I listen to SAT radio aplenty driving aound town in my 22 MDX Advance. The lack of a SAT radio in the new 25 MDX is very Annoying forcing you to Stream that music too. For me anyway, who takes only the occassional long "Road Trip" (I hate that expression) where I will engage AA for the Google maps or WAZE vs using the MDX's Navi (which is quite good IMHO), for traffic avoidance, it is a blairing ommission that frustrates me. I would have tom "play" with the new 25 InfoT. system to see how accomodative it is to simply ne Plug N Play to get SAT radio.... I gotta have my Tom Petty channel, Underground garage, etc.... LOL.

OT......Concerning the new 25 MDX A-Spec Advance, I am still toying with leasing one vs buying my 22 MDX Advance with 22.3K miles for $38,500 to be completed in 4 weeks or so. I'm liking the Urban Gray Pearl with Either the Ebony or Orchid (Cement color) interior. I have tended to favor the lighter colored interiors (mine has Greystone withb Fathom Blue Pearl exterior [which I truly like]. I've shied away form dark interiors because of the heat factor in the spring/summer. Honda and Acura use Sattelite based Climate Control systems and considered somewahat lacking as far as cooling goes. My son who has driven my car doer extended periods has commented that his Black leather interiro on his Jeep GC feels cooler than my MDX with a Greystone lighter interior. For those of you with Ebony interiors - what's you Thoughts?

I have a 2020 w dark grey interior. AC doesn't cool as much as my other Acuras in the summer, so I have to use lower temps than normal for my Auto setting, never thought of interior color contributing, guess that makes sense.

That's what I thought !! I have a 22 MDX Advance. Even with the lighter interior with my MDX parked outside (everyday), on the warmer days my routine is as follows: Use the Key Fob to Open all the windows and sunroof (Click Open door button once , then hold down it opens all the windows and sun roof); then use the Fob to remote Start the car - that helps to cool it on those Hot sunny mornings. I am going to try to see the new 25 MDX A-Spec Advance in Urban Gray Pearl with both the Orchid and Ebony interiors Live - Pics on Line don't always do it Justice.

Greatest cause of autom0tive accidents is distracted driving. Lets see how much more we can distract the driver. The day will come when cell phone usage will be impossible when vehicle is not in park.

Does not have an XM Radio which is very hard to believe. Like taking a step backward in time 25 years.
BancW, you and the many other posters should send emails to Acura Owners CS (actually it ends up with Honda) complaining about this Ommission! I did. It cerated a Case Number which will not be addressed. However, if enough folks who like me miss having a SAT Radiop Receiver in the new 25 MDX, Maybe they start to pay attention!. At the very minimum, Acura could have made it an Option that the customer could have selected. Now only an Aftermarket unit can be installed (look at the posts from raceparts) using the center console USB port and either using the existing antenna or required to install another separate antenna (another PIA) so that the aftermarket unit will use the new Touchscreen. But now I'm led to believe affects the console USB port which would not be able to play Flash Drives!! According to a psoter on a MDX Review on You Tube, said that he was a member of the design Team at Acura that decided to eliminate the SAT radio because over a 7 year period, there was 40% reduction in the use. To My Knowledge, Acura is the Only Car maker to do this in 2025???

I believe only true XM subscribers will notice/miss this feature. While my 19 has this, I have had an on and off relationship with Sirius XM. When I have cancelled a subscription or a trial has ended, initial days are always rough. With Android Auto, I have found other apps for streaming. That being said, I would like to know the real reason for the omission (i e. cost cutting, general disinterest etc.)

I believe the reasons are for what You stated : cost cutting, and a diminution of use after initial supplied 90 day trials. Nonetheless, I have a Package Plan for 3 Cars for less or equal to having Ad Free Pandora & Spotify. I have saved a couple of bucks by lowering one script to Streaming app only : SXM on AA. Having a SAT radio was so easy to switch off from other sources playing and go right into Sirius Radio. Probably Next on Board will be to remove AM radio Like Tesla (and Ford , but they caved in and restored AM radio without Charge). I for one listen to Talk Radio on AM for News, Talk, weather, etc. And AM Radio is part of the Emergency Broadcast System. Incredibly, a Bill is still waiting to be approved in Congress to force carmakers to keep AM radios in cars.
