I had nearly exactly the same experience about a week ago trying to update my 2025 MDX. Based on message, I took to the dealership (first time) and was a little disappointed. They said were aware of the issue and it was something due to server (?) problem with Acura/Honda and they could not do anything. I responded that the message said "have your vehicle checked by dealer". They said they could "try" but update fails 75% of time. After some discussion, I left it for them to try. After about two hours I got the call that it was succesful! And as they warned ahead of time ALL my sttings were GONE, I mean everything. Took FOREVER to get the right settings for Apply Carplay to connect automatically plus renter all the radio stations, safety settings, door locks, lighting... No notable improvement to pre-update (but was not really having issues) so I would recommend anyone considering trying should probably just wait a month or two and NOT go to the dealer without calling them first (I did it online).
