Windows Vista has now a DVD data burn feature in windows media player (click the arrow next to burn to choose Data disc instead of Music). So with this new feature I burned a double-layer 8.5GB DVD full of music. Then tried it in the MDX. However that didn't work saying bad disc.
Most likely DL is not supported. There's also a small chance that it's the DVD format that wmp uses.
The Navigation unit may still accept a double-layer disk since the factory DVD's are double-layer. Haven't tried a backup yet.
