Any body has experience with this ski rack?? Easy to install and uninstall after the ski season is over? Any wind noises?

Thule Ski Rack

We have one and we don't detect any wind noise. I suggest buying from your favorite ski shop and have them do the installation. The do it yourselfers seem to be the ones that complain about wind noise.

That's pretty funny.

More than a tad bit ignorant.

People with limited technical skills commonly believe that there is something complex or difficult that "professionals" are somehow better equipped to handle- when in fact most "professional installers" (be they ski shops or mechanics or electronics shops) do mediocre work.

Remember, 'leftty-loosey, righty-tighty"...

PS.. I'd venture to make the claim that the laws of physics make it IMPOSSIBLE to attach skis and a rack to the roof WITHOUT an increase in noise...

My 91725 just arrived and the distance from hole to hole on the clamp is a little more than 3.5", so I think there should be no fitting problem although I haven't had chance to install the racks yet.

Some online merchants selling the Thule 91725 say that it fits factory rack bars of width less than 3.25". But my MDX's factory bars are 3.5". Did you have any problem fitting your 91725 on your MDX

Yes, I can definitely be arrogant at times. Usually I try to be helpful.

My point is that our ski rack's increase in wind noise is so infintesimally small that it's undetectable by the occupants of our vehicle. All of us have cargo racks on the roof of our MDX's. No one here ever complains about wind noise due to the factory installed cargo rack. If one were to put some wind calculation device with/without the cargo rack, the device would calculate that the wind noise has increased with the addition of the cargo rack. Who cares if there's an increase in wind noise if you can't hear it.

That's why my hypothesis is that there are people out there who've installed it improperly or have a defective ski rack. The other possibility is that they are just more sensitive to the wind noise. Hey folks, it's winter if you have a ski rack on your vehicle. Keep the windows closed and you won't hear it!
