Arg, I'm sorry for not being much help to others on this forum (I've had my Acura for about 2 weeks), but have another question to this great community. I recently had a stainless exhaust tip welded on her, and I notice after only a day or two that the outer rim of the tip is black and kind of wet. Actually, this was evident when I was at the muffler shop and looked at the old end of the exhaust that was totally black.
Of course, I realize that these cars are not carbuerated, but I remember back then that white on the exhaust tip meant a rich mixture of fuel, and black meant a lean. Does this still apply or make any sense?
Also, I believe that the friend who gifted me this MDX didn't put in the best quality gasoline, so it might take a tank or two to see if lower-grade fuel is the cause.
It would be interesting to know if any other owners of these cars with this 3.5L "Earth Dreams" motor experience an excessive amount of condensation at the exhaust tip that is always dark black.
Thank you all again, and in advance!
