I'm looking to updated my OEM Conti on my 19 MDX with +32,000 miles on them. I was just in the PNW during Xmas/New Years and the OEM Conti did OK with all the snow, ice, and slushy muck on the roads. Looks like the tread design is directional? Can you cross rotation these tires?

 

Sorry for the delay in responding, been off the grid for a bit. Looks like @JTM answered that question. Definitely pros/cons to directional tires. They have much better traction/water evacuation and better road manners (which I can attest to) however at the cost of easy rotation. This is the third set of directional tires I've had and so far have had very good luck just rotating front to back. It helps to make sure the wheel alignment is spot on. I only put about 6k miles a year on the MDX so that probably helps, but I suppose if I ever run into uneven wear, I'd go the route of dismounting and flipping them.

 

Was time to replace the the tires on our 2015 SH-AWD Advance. The OE Michelins treated us well, so I wanted to stick to the Michelin name. After reading a ton of reviews and tests, we settled on the CrossClimate 2's and stuck to the stock 245/55R19 size. We've only got about 1000 miles on them, but they are superior to the Latitudes I pulled off the car (which were also very good). I live in rainy/icy Washington state and these tires inspire a lot more confidence than the Latitudes in both wet and dry corners with less sidewall roll. A few of the reviews I read reported a bit of hum noise from the aggressive tread and a loss of a couple MPG's, however I have not noted either of these. If anything, my MPG's have improved a hair.

I think I can be honest in saying that these are the best road tires I have every had and I recommend these tires with two thumbs up.

Pros:

• Excellent wet/icy traction.
• 60k mile warranty.
• Aggressive look with tread up the sidewall (helpful in deeper snow).
• Softer ride than OE tires.
• 60 day satisfaction guarantee.

Cons:

• Expensive (paid a little over $1k at Costco for the set) but absolutely worth the extra $$.

I have CC2 on my 1st GEN MDX. It rides well. Only downside is it is the directional tire. You will need to dismount/remount the tire if you want to do cross side rotate and probably not the best if you want to keep as spare tire down the road. (Normally I keep the best tread remaining tire as spare when replacing all tires)

I might have to stick with original choice of Conti DWS 06 Plus when I'm due. We get very little rain/snow in the southwest, hwy speeds for 70-85 mph,+105 degrees in summer, low teens in winter, occasional freak storm, and +15,000 miles per year (everything is 1-12 hrs away). Cross rotation really helps with tire wear and keeping the tires noise lower for me. I've noticed I do get more wear on the outer edge of tire on the driver's side; especially, on the front tire (least amount on passenger rear tire). Rotation, X-rotation, and alignments are the only way I can get full tire life the way I like to drive (Sport mode only type of driver).

The Conti's are great tires and very versatile. I am strongly considering replacing the run flats on my S550 with the DWS 06 Plus this fall. They are a tire often mentioned on the MB sedan forums.

Agree. Put CC2’s on my 2019 Advance. Love them.
