So I installed the jb4 and all connections are solid. Start the car and it won’t start. It will try and crank but won’t turn over. All the warning lights and everything possible lights up.

so I remove the jb4 and the car starts. But now has this check engine light warning on.
Any ideas ? I don’t think I knocked anything else loose.

it takes a few cycles of driving the car but the warning lights will go away

Someone on the forum had an issue and they got mistakenly sent a TLX type s firmware.

Burger support is very good, I would email them if you havent.

Appreciate it. So safe to just drive normal ? Or does that check engine limit anything ?
I’ll contact the supplier. My box just says type s on it for Acura.
Yeah you have nothing to worry about, the cel that is popping is from emissions because you unplugged the maf sensor on the airbox, if you scanned codes that's what you would see. It's like 5 mins of driving and a couple on off cycles to clear mine when I turned the car on without it fully plugged in.

@IanCH - Have you tried running E85 yet?
Would love to give it a go, the closest pump is pretty out of the way for me last I checked.

My main concern is that the transmission doesn't particularly like full balls to the wall acceleration. (Or at least, by the feel of it) I am contemplating adding the towing transmission cooler and intercooler before I really push the platform.

It's more about not rushing headlong into a major issue as one of the only ones running more power right now.

Thanks light went away after a few cycles.

I did reach out to Burger about the jb4 issue and they said it was apparently a bad batch, but did not specify if they sent me the wrong firmware. They are currently waiting for a new batch to arrive to test and will contact me.

I will keep in touch with them on it

I have the racebox all set up, but its 90 degrees here today so I am sure my numbers wouldnt be very good. Will look for a more normal temp/humidity day to do testing.

I too would be interested - if its a direct swap.

Can't wait for your numbers and feedback in general.

TLX type S is a very comprehensive kit and probably the best intercooler kit I have ever seen on any platform. Uses all factory mount hardware. After seeing the charge pipes, they are all inadequate and need to be upgraded.

Just watched the video. You're right, that is one thick intercooler and the welds and finish are so clean and sexy. I could eat some filet mignon off that raw!

Always loved the looks of upgraded intercoolers out of the box.

For anyone that read my post about the jb4 issue, Just thought I share that I had a faulty jb4 harness from a batch of type s units. Burger motorsports sent me a replacement and should be here soon.
So whomever wanted a jb4 for their type s you’re safe to order from burger motorsports now !

Looking at the pics of the TLX vs MDX intercooler outlet, the MDX has a lot of sound "resonating" equipment. There's a bypass chamber and in the parts pic (and you can see sitting inside of your passenger side fender well) another resonator. The TLX just has the one piece plastic tube with the resonator built into it. Another interesting thing is, the TLX only has the "mini" radiator behind the drivers side, while the MDX has a one on passenger side too (some interference to possibly work around).
