I've had my new to me 2014 MDX about a year now I believe.
I noticed the keyfob remote distance was getting on the lower side so I purchased some brand name (Energizer Lithium) batteries and replaced FOB 1 and FOB 2.
A few days later I get the error "keyless start system problem" on the screen...but the keyless start works just fine as well as all of the other keyfob buttons. The error is just annoying to look at every day.
I'm trying to figure what the heck would cause this after changing the batteries? I tried turning the remote start on and off for driver 1 and driver 2 in the system setup but no fix.
The only crazy thing I can think of is that because of the new keyfob batteries extended range (we hang our keys not far from the car) that fob 1 and fob 2 are both registering as in the car???
Anyway, I don't see any threads with a solution shy of going to the dealer. I don't have a local Acura dealer...only a Honda dealer. Can they fix this?
Or can I reset this code with an ODB reader?
Thanks for the advice!
