Hey y’all I could use some help diagnosing and remedying this issue with my 2014 Acura MDX. I have noticed only during the night and early morning (never during the heat of the day) I have a very LOUD groaning noise whenever I brake at low speeds, I never hear this noise at high speed. I had my friend walk beside my car as it brakes and it appears to only come from the front passenger side caliper. I have not checked the pads or anything yet but the circumstance of the noise occurrence has me stumped. Any and all help is appreciated thank you all.

It really needs to be inspected.

Jack it up, and use a jack stand in addition to the jack to support it.

Rotate the wheel by hand and listen for any unusual noises. That might give you a clue whether there's noise even without applying the brakes and if so, where it's coming from like the brake caliper, backing plate, or even wheel bearing or CV joint.

Then take the wheel off and inspect it all very closely.

How many miles does this set of brakes have on it? Maybe it's just time for routine brake job. It's also possible you had a sticky caliper on that side and one of the pads wore much more quickly than the others.

Please let us know what this ends up to be.
