This was one scary freaking moment.

All the electronics shut off while I was DRIVING...I was driving!!!. WTF. It instantly power back on and did it again few times. The engine also turned off once, but it restarted instantly while I was pressing the gas. I came home and checked the battery connection and it's good. Not loose. No corrosion. Battery is 1 year old. No battery light. I did a quick search and there are hundreds of same/similar complaints on NHTSA. What's the solution to this problem?

I had the same exact symptoms once a few years back at around the 110k mile mark. Turned out to be my alternator. It was on its last legs. Instead of just dying all at once, it exhibited intermittent power spikes which in turn caused the engine to shudder a few times. Hope that helps.

If it is my alternator I'll be surprised it lasted 236k. I'm going to test everything tomorrow including the alternator.

The problem disappeared for now. I inspected all the wiring going to the alternator, cleaned the battery terminals, tested the battery and alternator using a multimeter and its charging normal as it should. I will replace the alternator if this problem occurs again.

Another problem I notice is when I turn off the car fast I can hear a loud popping noise. If I turn the key off slowly its normal.

Just to add my personal experience to this thread. I used to have the same exact issues along with Check Emission System and SH-AWD messages on the dashboard. This continued for about 7-8 months. One day after doing an oil change I noticed a bit of corrosion on my battery terminals so I removed the battery and cleaned it thoroughly along with the connectors on my battery cables. After re-installing the clean battery all of those problems went away and haven't been back yet. It's been almost two months now.
