Advise on buying a low mileage used 2019/2020 MDX SHAWD Advance?

I live in Seattle Metro Area and would like to get your opinion on buying a used 2019/2020 MDX SHAWD Advance (or ASpec). The last time I bought a car was at least 7 years ago ('12 TL SHAWD Tech) so you can tell I'm a bit rusty and outdated with the current MDX market.
2022 is out f the picture due to price as well as first generation issues so I am looking at either 2019/2020 SHAWD Advance or ASpec. Hybrid is also an option but very rare in our area. I've been perusing the mainstream car shopping websites and there's a couple of MDX that caught my eye and would like your opinion about the price.

Independent Dealer 1:
Trim: 2020 MDX SHAWD Advance Miles: 7,000 List Price $ 49,648 + TTL
Acura Dealer 1:
Trim: 2018 MDX SHAWD Advance Miles: 30,000 List Price $ 43,995 + TTL
Acura Dealer 2:
Trim: 2020 MDX SHAWD Tech ASpec Miles: 8,000 List Price $ 48,998 + TTL

All of these have clean Carfax history and all are single owner vehicles and are Great/Good Buy either in KBB or Truecar.
I'm not sure if these prices are typical prices or are they higher due to low used car inventory. I'm thinking of buying within 30 days to be used for our family trip to Yosemite in middle of August.
-TIA

How much are you willing to spend? If anything I suggest the Advanced or ASPEC model. You'll get everything from the Tech model in both of them, plus the Adv. and ASPEC has low mileage on them.

I am leaning towards the 2018 Advance but would also consider the other two if that's what the current market for MDX is going on.

For the ones with Acura dealer, are they CPO? By just looking at the price, I don't see much discount on it as used car. I believe you could get the A Spec at that price as NEW if you did it earlier.

To be honest, I think aspec models are a complete waste of money plus that rear end looks horrible to me. I’d go with option 2. All 3 of those prices seem high to me. I purchased a single owner 2019 SH-AWD with tech with 8700 miles on it for 39k in January. Not including TTL. I’m wondering if prices are jacked up due to the issues going on.

Those seem very expensive, especially for used vehicles. For that money I'd be looking at new vehicles given that you should be able to finance a new car with 0-1% APR. Food for thought, a new fully loaded Mazda CX-9 Sig is $47k

There were some notable changes for advance models from 2018 to 2019+, so you may want to look for a 2019 or 2020 if price is somewhat comparable.

Specifically:
  • Real wood trim for center console
  • Wood trim color options are slightly different from earlier models
  • Painted (body color matched) lower trim/garnish around bottom of vehicle
  • Wider wheels/tires and new wheel design (FWIW i really like this wheel design)
  • ZF9 transmission has some hardware refinements (so more than updated software)
  • Improved stop/start sensors and performance
  • Driver and passenger seats have 12 way adjustment including 4 way lumbar vs only 2 way lumbar in 2018
  • Active dampers that integrated with IDS mode (Sport stiffens dampers, Comfort softens them up)
That's all that's coming to mind at the moment, although there could be others

This is great. I haven't actually dive into details on each model/year but this definitely is a good start! Thanks!

I just did a quick car search. There are still plenty of 2020 MDX SH-AWD w/ Adv on sale as brand new. And I also spotted some PMC Editions for sale brand new too. Not sure if you are willing to go the brand new car route.

I just did a broad national search on new 2020 SH-AWD mdx and the price is between 56k and 59k. Both of which are 10k more then the 48k you could get a used 2019 or 2020 for. So unless they were willing to move a lot on price, it wouldn't make much sense to spend 10k more for brand new 2020 if you can get a low mileage used 2019 for 40k-45k.

I am pretty sure dealers can knock down $10k off the MSRP price if they want the sale. Just gotta find that one sales manager and dealership willing to help out.

Also just for frame of reference my 2019 has just under 15k miles, which is very low (I work from home most of the time, don't take many trips and with pandemic last year didn't drive much). So judging mileage, anything with 20k or less miles I would say should qualify as low miles. Once you get up around 30k miles that's creeping up into high miles for a 2 year old car (depending on when it was bought, I bought mine in November 2018).

I found a couple of Advance and will check them out this weekend:

Test drove 2019 MDX SH-AWD Advance and 2020 SH-AWD Hybrid Tech today. Both impressed me (and my wife) on ride, comfort, safety features and tech goodies. The Advance is from Porsche Dealership and was told that they bought the Advance from Manheim Auctions down in CA. He mentioned about the missing rear wiper and said about a clean carfax but when I check when I got home that it was part of the Fuel Pump Recall. Not too concern since there's already a fix. Got back from dealership and talk about price. It was listed @ $46K with 16K Miles and went with the usual "what numbers are you looking for in order for you take the MDX home?". I told him we're still looking but will consider the vehicle, I did mentioned less than $43K would be my ideal number. He wasn't pushy at all and he said he'll talk to his manager if I am ready to deal.

The hybrid was a lease return (21K Miles) and from an Acura Dealership. Body looks good both exterior and interior. We test drove it and notice that there's a slight delay when I hit the gas pedal. This is my first time driving a hybrid so I don't know what to expect. I did notice the there's less engine noise while driving on surface streets. Unfortunately, I didn't got a chance to drive it in a freeway due to heavy traffic. Sales Rep wasn't helpful at all, it seems like he doesn't want to sell the car, I would expect during our test drive that he'll tell me all about the vehicle but I was the one who keep asking questions, just totally different feeling compared to the Advance Sales Guy. We decline when he offered to come in to his office to talk about the price and went home. My wife did show interest on the Hybrid model and now browsing online and found one:

Used 2020 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid Sport Hybrid w/Advance Pkg For Sale in Spokane Valley WA | LL000786

@Pandaman1784 The price is pretty close to what you've paid for and carfax looks clean. I'll reach out to them tomorrow and see if there's any wiggle room. It's 4.5 hours drive from our home so I can't test drive it.

Thanks!

Yea, i didn't get a chance to test drive mine before purchasing either. Since it still had factory warranty, i bought it and had it shipped to me.

Switch the drive mode to sport+. The hesitation you noticed will be gone.

Also, don't expect too much wiggle room for negotiation. Used cars are flying off the lots. Especially for hard to find combinations like hybrid with advance package.
