Anybody knows where the ASC or ANC module is located ? I need to deactivate it so it won't interfere with after market subwoofer

I have educated today. I never focues on that Acura has installed Modules that "produces" engine sounds piped in to the Car. Could that be to cover up road / tire noise? Is the ASC and ANC the same ?

ASC and ANC are the same and a lot of new cars have them, after removing the ANC fuse i notice there is a slight low frequency sound coming from the back of the MDX seems like the exhaust at around 60 mph and at 2,000 rpm, at normal setting i notice the engine has less sound or noise which is good since its not a sports car but even less engine sound at sports setting, road noise is the same for low to high speed.

Here is the ANC module. You can see the pictures I posted on my sub install, link below.

You are still confused... You have nothing to worry about; bottom line, your engine mounts are electronically controlled - Active Control Mount and Active Vibration Control both use electronically controlled engine mounts but ACM is for the 3.5 engine (which is why you don't have a fuse) and AVC is used in the 3.0 engine (Type S)

From the MDX Type S official Press Kit:
Active Vibration Control

To maintain smooth operation when Variable Cylinder Management™ is engaged, new engine mounts and Active Vibration Control unique to the Type S Turbo V6 are used. AVC detects and helps cancel vibration from the engine and contributes to nearly imperceptible VCM™ operation.

Didn’t work on 2023 mdx sh-awd. I removed the active sound control but nothing happen. Still have lots of exhaust and engine noise. Lots of booming rumbling sound over bumps like the subwoofer. It sound electronically. Most noise vehicle I have own. No more Honda ever again. Been to dealership many time no help. Had the vehicle almost a year give me a headache every time I drive it. My Mazda cx5 is much quieter. Most expensive vehicle I ever own but the worst. This vehicle is a nightmare. Do not buy!

Wow. This thread is an eye opener for me and may solve what has been an ongoing annoyance for me. I had professional sound deadening done recently at an audio shop on my 2020Adavnce when they upgraded my speakers. After that work, the cabin has been nice and quiet...except for a strange low rumbling noise that comes on randomly, gets louder, and then shuts off suddenly. It vibrates the steering wheel when it get loud enough. I happens mostly at mid speeds, but occasionally on the highway. Seems so random. Not really happening when the engine is under load or when the car is shifting. Seems better for some reason when the sunroof or windows were open. Thought at first it was a wheel bearing, but I'm wondering if the sound deadening didn't confuse the ANC system. This would make sense to me given the timing of when the issue started and since the noise seems really unnatural to me. I have an appointment this week with the dealer for them to investigate. Will definitely be asking about the ANC, which I had no idea even existed until just now! Anyone know if it can be electronically adjusted or re-calibrated?

Ok. Probably wishful thinking that the loud intermittent vibrating/droning noise I'm hearing is the ANC. Makes sense timing wise, but had it happen really bad tonight, even with the sunroof open, and it just kinda feels mechanical. I can feel the vibration in the wheel and it's so loud; much louder than the engine and happens when I'm coasting mostly. Really hoping the dealer can diagnose and fix.

Hey all. I'm following up. Turns out the issue I was having with the loud, intermittent droning noise was indeed the ASC ANC system. After having two mechanics look at the car and finding nothing, I went back to my audio guy and had my rear factory speakers replaced to match my fronts - and the issue got worse. That's when I had told him about the noises and he knew immediately it was the ANC. After disconnecting the module, the mysterious low pitched droning sound is gone and my new speakers sound amazing. Also worth pointing out that the cabin is actually QUIETER without the ANC because my after market speakers were pumping in mis-matched engine noise. So glad I finally figured this out and a big warning to anyone who gets an audio upgrade and is hearing wierd noises in the car afterwards!
