So I got a service minder code "A13" pop up. A = oil change (no filter!?).
1 = rotate tires (hope they balance also). 3 = transmission and transfer fluid (flush or just change??). Now I normally would just expect them to balance the tires, replace with a new oil filter. However the "B" service includes the oil filter change but NOT the "A". Seriously?

I have called my dealer and asked what the A13 service included and they said :
1. oil change
2. rotate tires
3. transmission/transfer fluid
4. brake fluid change
5. fuel injection cleaner (hope it's at the port and not a bottle in the gas
tank)
6. full inspection
7. top off fluids.

They quoted me total of around $400. What you guys think of the price? Would the oil filter and balancing of tires really be separate?! I will for sure sit down and talk with advisor regarding specifics before anything is done.

2007 mdx currently at 63000 miles. Bought it CPO at 52000 miles. Believe I'm going to bring that up while negotiating my final price. 11,000 miles and $400 of service already?

Wait till you see the bill for having the timing belt job done, water pump replaced, and all the serpentine belts too...you might want to eat up that bill....!!! :)

That is exactly why i do my own service on my vehicles, plus i don't trust no one to play with my vehicles....i prefer it takes me more time but to have it done right the first time.

The transmission/transfer case fluid change and the brake fluid change/flush is what makes the price high.

That I know, dealers don't balance tires, they just rotate them.

Some people don't like to change their transmission/transfer case fluids until they reach 100K.

At the end, it is up to you if you want to perform the preventive fluid changes or if you just want to perform an engine oil change.

You really don't even have to go to the dealer to perform any maintenance on your vehicle...

Thanks for the replies. Oil change I can and have done myself on this car. They don't balance tires, that's right! I can go somewhere for that no biggie. Transmission and Transfer case fluid I THINK I can do myself with the help of some info found on here. (I've done a regular transmission drain on my other car using the drain, fill, drive around, drain again method). Brake fluid change, do I really need that yet?

I think I'm answering my own question. Make time to do it myself! Anyone have tips or links to what specific items I need for the Trans service? THANKS!!!!
