Don't forget to send Regular complaints to Acura via Acura Links or their web site about How Perturbed you are by this Ommission. The More The Merrier. I do , sent 3 or 4 emails and will continue to do so. They need to know how we feel Skunked by this move.
I will do it every week. Their canned email is useless.

Perhaps, Just Perhaps, the message is starting to resonant with Acura on the protest filed about the SAT radio. Yesterday, Honda Customer Service (they handle same for Acura) not only called me, they also Emailed me about addressing this Case number. They will just Poo Poo me with the standard retorts, but enough people keep complaining, it result in some sort of postive action.

And if they made no changes to the gas mileage, it is going to suck. I have the 2024 Model. My car is nearly 14 months old, and I have about 6600 miles…. and I am spending about $140 a month on gas which is obscene. I barely get 180 miles to a tank. It makes me not want to drive anywhere.

Problem with your theory is that streaming music is the same as SXM. It's not. First issue you need a cell phone or recorded materials to stream. Personally I don't have the desire to record and supply my own music. Having a multitude of stations with many choices of programming, live broadcasts; like sports.... is more desirable than playing a song list over and over. The big issue is that Acura did not introduce new technology. They took a step backwards. The cheap "notebook" stuck in the dash is far from being user friendly. The dealer lied about it being completely functional for entertainment. The Google map is barely usable, driving one handed and watching the screen will find a ditch sooner than a location. Bottom line is my '25 MDX is aggravating to drive and I still have a couple years on the lease. Hopefully Acura will wake up and fix it next year so I can try to flip mine for a new one.

How are you getting only 180 miles to the tank? Drag racing? All of my driving is local/around town and I'm getting 280-310 miles per tank in a Type S. You're getting 11 mpg? Sounds unlikely.

I’m not a fan of the touch interface but I’m also happy with our ‘24 because (probably the minority here) I like the ELS system better than the B & O
After over 3 months of ownership ( a lesee) of a 25 MDX A-Spec Advance, I'm acclimating to the two points you made. The Touchscreen is better in AA mode, head over heels better than the TTIP, but in non AA modes, I kinda miss the TTIP as I had become accustomed to it over the tenure of usage. At first I felt the ELS sound system was better as well, with easy peasy Bass, Trebel and Midrange controls, however, call it Burn In, The B & O system seems to be as good or better with time. Sound systems are very subjective, and really can't be analyzed unless you have both playing the same source music simulataneously (like an A / B switch flipping back and forth) to measure it to one's ear. FWIW, lately after "fooling" with B&O's unuusal Equalizer Circle adjustment tool, I have fo that it is pretty much in the center with the Surround sound less than 50% and the roof speakers set in the middle range - more or less. I for one, do not like Boomy Bass notes that distorts the Music (to my ear) liking tte most "natural" / Neutral sound across all spectrums of Music.

I agree that it has got to be one of the worst decisions in the history of Honda. I predict elimination of the Sirius XM radio will severely negatively impact future sales. The folks in Honda service at Corporate really cannot offer insight as to why the decision was made. I guess it saves. $300-400 in manufacturing cost but - the worst part is that dealers do not have any solutions- even if customers are willing to pay for a new radio and antenna- they say it cannot be done (at least that is what my service rep said). I am stuck for next 33 months - but after 20 years 9 new Acura vehicles) will have to leave Acura For a brand that offers SXM.
Don't forget to Keep "Bitching" to Acura as regular as you can. Me, and others here are doing so. Send emails, via Acura link and complain about it. The last protest I made did prompt an email and Phone call from Customer Service. They have issued Case Numbers each time. The Squeaky Wheel Gets The Oil.... Some say, they won't do anything for current customers of the 25 MDX, but Never say Never. There are Aftermarket solutions (raceparts depicted it in DIY thread) . Maybe Acura does something to make offers to do it? Without getting very winded about a story I posted sometime ago concerning my 2010 Infiniti G37X. In short, that car had a new 7 speed AT which was Laggy and had awkward tranny shifts. After more than 2 years of posting on Infiniti Forums, and numerous complaints filed with my dealer and meeting & driving with Infiniti Regional Managers / Techs, Infiniti issued a new software Update that improved the performance by over 50%! In fact, when my dealer (Pepe Infiniti in White Plains, NY) called me in to have the system updated, the Manager said it ws because of ME!! I said, Come On....you exaggerate. He said, No, it was because of your vociferous , and persistent griping (with many others on the forum - which They read BTW) that they finally did something about it. At that time I had 6 months left on my lease, and now the car ran much better. To finish, when that lease matrured I leased a new 2013 Infiniti M37X , which was one of the best cars I ever had - a great Sports sedan that was very much Underated in the marketplace - a real Bargain compared to Audi, BMW, and Acura. I miss that car to this day - roomy, very comfortable being slightly elevated, excellent road manners/handling, pretty good MPGs, plenty of power in Nissan's 3.5 V-6 [a reknowned engine] and no more Lag!!

No XM would be fine with me. I only ever used it during the free trial period but even in that timeframe got tired of it. There just isn't much variety of what I'm interested in on it to not get bored with. I think it's a technology of the past and has been largely superseded by streaming apps, most of which can be had for free.

I do multiple coast to coast trips per year and stream the whole way. On freeways there's near total coverage throughout all areas of the country but in some more remote areas of Utah, Wyoming, and the like on non-freeways there'll be areas with no cell coverage but I don't need music blasting in my ears every second and in many of those areas I'd just as soon enjoy the scenery without the distraction.

But someday technology will solve even that with direct cell to satellite that I'm sure will eventually offer streaming and even obviate the need for cell towers at some point.

I think it comes down to exactly what people like to listen to. For me when I'm driving locally I just listen to local radio stations. When I'm driving on a long road trip I listen to music streamed via my cell phone. I never listen to sports, Stern, or similar items that maybe are appealing on XM to some people.

That said, it can't be much of a cost to include XM into the head unit, probably just a single IC, so it makes one wonder why they didn't.
The real cost to the manufacturers extends well beyond the initial hardware required.

For those of you who as "upset" as I am over the eliminated SAT Radio Receiver see the below link form another Acura Forum about the issue in the 25 MDX:

This was just my experience, but after trying out the true touchpad interface for a few minutes I did not like it. I was personally not a fan. I think the touchscreen is easier to use. As for the SXM, I rarely ever use it so for me it was not a big deal as I mostly just use Bluetooth audio from my phone, but it was an unexpected removal of a feature.
A few minutes of trying the touchpad is not a fair way to rate it.
it takes some muscle memory. Still better then taking your eye off the
road and reach for a screen. Your post gave me the impression
you really did not care for the MDX.
good luck with what ever you go with.
