The options are very limited for longer boxes that will fit the 3rd Gen MDX factory crossbars and not affect rear liftgate operation. I don’t believe the Thule Alpine will fit without hitting the liftgate. My longer Thule Frontier box fits but I have to manually open the liftgate by holding the open button for a couple seconds and not open it all the way.

The Inno boxes work well with the factory bars.

This is my longer Thule box. If it didn’t have the raised rib running down the center it would hit the antenna.

What model is this?

It is a Thule 668ES Frontier. It is an older box I purchased new in 2014. I believe it is discontinued now.
