I updated the Navigation system today (2023 MDX Tech) and all went as well as can be expected. The only issue was the download, took like 18 hours for the download, granted, it was like 15 or so GB. And yes I have a very fast download and a brand new USB stick. Just started it and let it go over night and watched it finish the next morning. No problem with the upload and now the version is 2023-01-03. All appears to be working correctly, just wondering if this has been a typical download time for others.

What do you define as "fast download"? :D Cable, DSL, Fiber, Satelite? I am on ATT Fiber, I've never experienced 18 hours, more like 1h:30m Max, 1hr average.

FYI, version 2023-04-13 was briefly released on the site, long enough for me to download it and install it - For whatever reason, they pulled it from the site and went back to 2023-01-03

Having gone through a handful of updates (in the last 2 years or so), download time was not consistent... some faster than others.
I realized it might be due to WHEN you're downloading the file and IF you have sleep mode enabled after a certain amount of inactivity from your computer.
I remember the update before last didn't download properly when I checked on it early in the morning.
Something must've happened overnight... Who knows.
I have AT&T Fiber 1GB service w/Ethernet directly to my computer.

Took me like 4 days and three tries to get that downloaded to a USB thumb drive. Kept timing out. Last attempt worked but took about 20 hours to complete. I have fast Internet as well. 1GB download on a fiber network. I was doing it over wifi though. No direct connection to my computer. Not sure if that is the difference.

Need help please for the Navigation update.
2023 Acura MDX A-Spec:
Checked my current Navigation version which says 2022 (I think Aug'22).
Bought a new USB (128 GB), followed site instructions in formatting and then downloaded the new version (2023) using my VIN which finally confirmed copied to my USB after 30 or 45 minutes. Please note I have 1 GB download speed internet and I always use LAN cable ;)
Then turned my car on with Accessory mode and inserted USB into the center console port where we use for songs/audio port if i am not wrong.
Then selected Navigation in my menu which said loading Navigation core loading or something.
Took the car for a long drive / day trip covering 900+ kms totally but even after coming back home, Navigation version still showing old 2022 and not even updated.
What is that I am missing here?

It seems random when it comes to the updating process.
Give it a couple more trips... not necessarily long ones...
It'll work eventually.

I found the workaround on this issue. I confirmed that the version in my MDX was 2023.01.03. But when I entered that in the HERE box in the program - it responded that there was an error. So, I entered an older version from 2022. it directed me to the next page to download the newest version which was 2023.01.03!! I downloaded that again, and then my MDX's screen indicated that was the current version . The previous posts here relayed that a new version came out 2023.04.13 which I previously downloaded a few weeks ago. That Upload was interrupted while Uploading into the car - evidently there was something wrong on HERE's end with the download. However, I will say that while I was Uploading the NAVI update (the 20223.04.13 version) the FirmWare Upgrade screen popped up while I was driving. Probably Foolishly, I elected to update the Firmware while the Navi Flashdrive was plugged in and uploading. A Glitch? We will see. The HERE site still has no new update posted.

For anyone new to this and doesn’t have a minimum 32GB USB stick to hand, I would recommend buying a stick that is exactly 32GB. No bigger. It will come pre formatted to FAT32, which is what you will need for the download. Otherwise, you’ll be typing in DOS commands to format the thing. The instructions say you need at least 32GB. What they should say is that 32GB is recommended but there is a workaround if you have stick with a larger capacity. 32GB sticks are pretty cheap.

As a another datapoint, my download was a couple of hours.

I am still struggling with this new Install /Upload. The lastest Version on the HERE site is 2023.14.03. Downloaded 3X and ech time it will not finish the Upload - I get a Message after a long time that I need to Re-Insert the Flash Drive to restart a new Upload. This is 1st Time after 3 previous updates that this has occurred. This latest time, I used a completely new FD (32GB), formatted, downloaded the new version and it get the aforesaid message. Does anyone else experience this?

Yep, I formatted the FD, did a fresh Download of this version 2023.14.03 , and re-inserted the FD to upload the Navi update. While driving around yesterday, again upm pops : Please re-Insert the FD to restart the uplaod process. The previous attempt failed". Next thing to try is grab an new FD 32GB, and try the new one. Even though ai Formatted the existing FD that I have used previously at least 3X, maybe something is corrupted on the FD? The formatting in Windows usually checks the Drive, scans it for problems.

I am at my Dealer now. Getting the Idle Stop Software updated per the Letter I received from Acura. The Service Advisor just told me that for The NAVI Software update 2023.14.03 I should not be driving around with the FD inserted . I told him the last 4 previous updates were done in that manner. He told me that there have been difficulties with this most current version. Best to leave the car running and in Park to work properly. This was my 3rd attempt, using a fresh new 32GB FD last night, newly downloaded the update and inserted it today before coming here. What Could Be Better Than Sitting in the Dealer for an Hour and Half !!

Contrary to most posters, I Do use the MDX's NAVI system predominantly (unless I'm taking a bigger trip which may involve traffic conditions) for local purposes. I do not like the way AA works with the TTIP. The Trackpad is SO SLOW, and requires more attention to the screen to see where I am on WAZE, etc. Generally, I simply ask for a selection for a location with Alexa, and Alexa send ist to the Car's Navigation. IMO, if Acura could address the way the TTIP operates in AA or Apple Car Play (I use a Android Phone) - that would be a significant improvement.
