Does anyone know if any performance parts have been released for the 2022 MDX Type S or are in the works? :)

As already posted - JB4 Tuner (I have read on the JB4 Tech forum that someone has installed in the MDX Type S with good results). It is in the BETA stage.
Good research here JB4tech.com - International Turbo Tuning Discussion

PRL motorsports has an air filter replacement - MDX Type S is not listed, but the TLX Type S is (same filter). PRL motorsports is also working on upgraded intercooler and piping/hoses (already selling TLX Type S).

K Tuner is currently working on TLX Type S tune and the MDX Type S will soon follow.
Nothing listed yet KTuner LLC

Infinity Motorsports Racing is currently working on upgraded intercooler and piping/hoses for the TLX Type S and moving to the MDX Type S afterwards. Pics on FB page.

Good info thanks. I'd be interested in something that can flash the ECU with a tune through the OBD port which is what I've done with a previous vehicle, but anything beyond that will probably be overkill for my needs.

So I received my JB4 today and well, damn this car has some balls now!

Couple of notes:
  • This JB4 for the MDX is the easiest JB4 I have ever installed. You could legit have this thing on and off again in 10 minutes. Major selling point! on my Golf R and GTI you had to go under the car for one of the connectors
  • When installing you really dont need much more than the guide they offer for the TLX type S, everything is the same. Be SURE to let the car sit for a while unlocked before you start, the computer does not like it if the MAF sensor is unplugged while the car is not fully "off". It doesn't cause any problems but it sure does light up like a Christmas tree for a while after you do it.
  • I removed a bunch of the sound deadening foam under the engine cover. They are muffling our turbo noises!
I set the car to map 3 right away (+4.5PSI boost) and I can do a mini burnout from a dig... will do some more testing this evening when I can get to some empty flat roads and run some dragy measurements against stock.

Keep us posted! Do you have any photos of how you ran the wires/connectors?

I'm happy that you can install and remove easily as I do my service at Acura and assume I should remove beforehand.

Since I'm in this thread...anyone hear anything about aftermarket exhaust yet?? I've only seen people who have done the mid muffler delete.

On the topic of exhaust, I found this part for the TLX - ATLP A-Pipe, 2021+ Acura TLX (Type-S), 3" diameter, EP00018APRP: Honda-Acura Enthusiast Parts - Genuine OEM, JDM, Performance, Maintenance, and Specialty Parts

Which based on youtube videos does far more for the exhaust note than a resonator delete would.

I do not know if it fits the MDX, but its so easy to install I may give it a go regardless. ATLP A-Pipe, 2021+ Acura TLX (Type-S), 3" diameter, EP00018APRP: Honda-Acura Enthusiast Parts - Genuine OEM, JDM, Performance, Maintenance, and Specialty Parts

There is no O2 sensor after this 3rd cat, so it wont affect emissions done by OBDII

So, come to realize that the app I used to use for 0-60 isn't around anymore and I couldn't get my hands on a dragy.

It seems that racebox has a 25hz offering that might be worth picking up.

Took the car for some driving where I could really stretch the legs and woowee its definitely more fun!

I would estimate we are down in the 4.5 sec 0-60 times based on the good old stopwatch but I wouldn't swear by that estimate.

Will keep folks posted, but it certainly seems like 20psi is where this motor was supposed to be... makes the power effortlessly and without any perceived cooling issues.

So I installed the jb4 and all connections are solid. Start the car and it won’t start. It will try and crank but won’t turn over. All the warning lights and everything possible lights up.

so I remove the jb4 and the car starts. But now has this check engine light warning on.
Any ideas ? I don’t think I knocked anything else loose.

Yeah you have nothing to worry about, the cel that is popping is from emissions because you unplugged the maf sensor on the airbox, if you scanned codes that's what you would see. It's like 5 mins of driving and a couple on off cycles to clear mine when I turned the car on without it fully plugged in.

Would love to give it a go, the closest pump is pretty out of the way for me last I checked.

My main concern is that the transmission doesn't particularly like full balls to the wall acceleration. (Or at least, by the feel of it) I am contemplating adding the towing transmission cooler and intercooler before I really push the platform.

It's more about not rushing headlong into a major issue as one of the only ones running more power right now.
