MDX Type S Hidden Costs ?

Never turn brake rotors. It's a waste of time, effort and resources.
I agree. Turning rather than replacing means additional labor time/cost, in order to save parts cost. However, turning and continuing to use rotors means they are thinner and more susceptible to vibrations, so they won't last nearly as long as new rotors. Which skews the decision towards replacing rather than turning.

You're talking about parts that are in the hundreds of dollars, not thousands of dollars, and that don't need replacing terribly often. Any difference in these parts prices is not at all important when considering the purchase of a $70,000-ish car that costs $10K more than the non-Type S version.
