Newbie to the forum, so go easy on me. I have an '09 MDX with 114k on it. It is in super good condition and I plan to keep it for a long time. I'm a big Honda fan and LOVE my MDX. Runs awesome, consumes no oil, but I have a pesky oil drip from the motor and don't want to have cardboard on my garage floor. I've replaced the valve cover gaskets within the last year and just had my shop replace the oil pump gaskets, oil pan gasket and then did the water pump and timing belt while they had it apart.

I noticed last week a few drops of oil on my garage floor under the passenger side of motor, ugh. Going to call the shop this next week, but wanted to confirm what are the remaining possibilities

Here's my question - are these the only possible options remaining?
  • Main seal on crankshaft
  • Oil filter\vtec housing
  • EGR valve

I know a piece of cardboard under the car would be cheaper, but I want to fix it. Thanks in advance!

Clean and check the side of the oil filter housing assembly, it might be that. Also check the Power Steering Pump, lines and fittings, it could be those leaking down the pass. side of the engine.

If you got the oil pump seals redone, then they should have done the oil filter gasket (plus oil pressure and VTEC Solenoid gaskets) at the same time. Did you get the front crank seal replaced at that time?

Finally got it back into the shop today and they showed me the problem - they said that the leak is coming from oil filter gasket. They are a good shop and said that they had replaced the gasket when they did the oil pump seals, but for whatever reason it didn't seal up correctly. They replaced the oil filter gasket and it's back at home tucked away in my garage. I'll keep an eye on it, but I think the mystery is solved. Thanks to everyone that replied.

Love my MDX!
