I am also interested, please share video or photo of the installation. If everything good, I'll go ahead and place the order. Thanks

Just tested a call - I can answer the call with the steering wheel, and it's routed through Carplay. That's kinda cool.

I still can't for the life of me get a 2nd phone to pair under Carplay. And in the process I messed up Wireless Carplay, so only Wired works at the moment. 🙄🤔

A-HA!

That was (Partially) it. Either wireless Carplay is half-baked, or this implementation is. I can figure out how to get 2 different wired devices to switch (plug-unplug-plug) but getting 2 wireless Carplay things going, when they are both in the same car, is unclear. Not sure if I'll stick to wireless or disable it. I can't do wireless charging, so I need a cable anyway. Having a group of cables dangling about doesn't sound too appealing though...
Can you confirm if you can still use the USB (music) on Acura dashboard? Because I know if you're on Apple Carplay, USB music won't work.

So, after a week, I'm really glad I pulled the trigger and took a chance on this gizmo. It really makes the Infotainment on these older MDX's feel much more modern. The switch from Bluetooth for phone calls to whatever this is using also helps sell it for me, too.
Well, I hope it will work for a long term, I don't want to keep replace it in a few years. I'm thinking to get it in a few weeks.

Is there a youtube app on the carplay module? or do you have to use mirror from the iPhone? Not going to watch youtube while driving.

I did the same, ordered last week from the same link. However, I am confused I saw the vline unit they removed only a few cables from the back. But the one we ordered from china, looks like they removed all the cables from the back and using their adapters?

I'm afraid if I removed all of them and don't know how to put them back. Is it color coded on the cables? I am still waiting for my unit to arrive, right now just look some of the videos to get ready.

Can we disable wireless Apple Carplay and only use wired because it's more reliable connection? Anyone try it yet? and is it on the unit or on the settings?

I have a same problem. Everything work great, but the MIC is too low, other end barely hear me, they said i'm far away when talking to them. So still working on this issue.

Have you try mirroring feature on this box yet? I tried and wouldn't let me. I'm using an iPhone 14 and whenever i try to connect, system ask me me disconnect carplay but i don't see any option to do so.

Solved the Carplay call volume issue. It seemed to be an issue with the phone, not the Carplay module. There was a known issue with the iPhone 14 Pro models having low call volume in Carplay. The iOS16.0.3 update solved that. Calls are clear as day now.

I am having the same issue, call on other end is very low even though I already updated the firmware to iOS 16.1. What should I do now?

So why did they call that a feature but no way to work around it? I don't want to keep connect or disconnect to be able to use Mirroring. That's sucks.

Ok, so here's my thought about this box. Use it for a few days and love how quickly wireless connect to the Carplay, I meant very fast. I don't have any issue with the noise or other buzz sounds even when my car is in Idle. Able to figure out the Microphone, so now it's working great. Love the car even more now with Carplay and never go back to the Acura Map.

My only complaint is the rear camera, when you're in reverse, you can not change the camera views at anymore. Used to be 3 modes for camera views but right now only 1 view with is not a big deal just to point out if there is a bug on the box and hope they can update that. I also noticed every time I opened the doors Carplay try to connect to my phone, I noticed because I saw the Carplay logo on my phone (lock mode) when I open the door. My concern is the battery drain if the car try to connect wireless to my phone? It seems like the box always have power?

Noticed a bit ago that the charging on the USB cable is a bit... low. I'm guessing it's just a 5V1A connection. It barely keeps my iPhone stably charged, much less increase it.

If I get on a wild hair this coming year I might hack some higher voltage in there and pull the data lines out. Or something. I can't do wireless because my case has credit cards in it and Magsafe won't work.

Only real complaint so far. Anyone else notice that?
Actually I didn't use that USB for charging, I put movies in a USB stick for the kids. I am using a wireless magsafe for fast charging and connect cable to the cigarette lighter.

that’s my first choice putting the new box under the radio but worry it will be moving around and make some noise. I’ll revisit see if i can put somewhere there with some velcro.
As for the MIC, make sure you select 3rd party MIC otherwise the microphone will be too low.
Happy with my unit and actually drive the car more.
