You definitely shouldn't pay above MSRP at this point. I located several dealers in the southeast willing to sell with no "adjusted market value" and bought one in St Louis. No add ons and they even had a low $199 doc fee. Was thoroughly pleased with my dealer experience. Mungenast Acura.

I bought from the same dealer. Great experience. I've purchased several Lexus from their sister dealership. Zero hassles and trustworthy folks. Highly recommend.

2023 MDX Type S Advance - $2500 under MSRP, but agreed to buy $400 in accessories (all weather floor mats and wheel locks) which I was going to anyways.
Sweet - the auto market is continuing to heal - and these dealers are going to lose their temporary Bizarro-world soon enough. Rates going higher, economic slowdown here or on the way, manufacturing bottlenecks easing. Plus new Honda Pilot is going to create a cross-shop issue for MDX to some extent I think. All of this is going to lead to softer pricing on MDXes I think

Without proof, I call bullshit on this. According to a Cars.com search, there are less than 350 MDX Type S Advanced models currently for sale in the US. Filtering by least expensive still shows MSRP. I just cannot see a dealer discounting this model $2,500 unless it was some sort of demo vehicle with 1000+ miles on it.

Who knows, however you don't expect a dealer to LIST the price on "CARS.COM" at below MSRP do you? I mean this would be something where they would agree to it as part of the deal. I guess Beerg8ggles can let us know the details of what happened

Hi all, picked up a 23’ MDX Type S Advanced in Apex / Ebony today for $1500 under MSRP (car was listed for $1k over at $75895). Traded in my leased BMW X5 with 9 months left on it which probably had a tiny bit of equity in it if I tried to do private sale but seemed easier to use it to get the price down a bit on the MDX. Only put NY taxes and fees down ($5000) and they didn’t force any accessories, packages on me (they offered but weren’t pushy) apparently the year ends for them today so I was the last car sold by the dealership for 2022 fiscal year which probably helped a bit too. So far very happy with the car. Just need to get use to the mousepad. The dealer was Rallye Acura in Roslyn, NY (Nassau county) I called around the previous week (NY, NJ, CT) and it seemed everyone was around $2500-6000 over MSRP so I guess in the grand scheme I did all right

Is this another lease or finance?

So, if I am reading this correctly....in NY, you pay the entire sales tax at the time of the lease signing? and they call us Taxachusetts!

Yup for the lease amount of the car, you can do it upfront or roll it into your monthly payments which would add like $100ish a month
Ouch!
If you pay monthly, is the amount based on the original purchase price or on the amount of the payment? And, do you get any credit for the value of the vehicle traded?

Its based on how much the agreed upon lease total is so let’s say all in it’s $40k over 3 yrs you get taxed 8.63% on that amount and have the option to pay it upfront when you sign the paperwork or roll it into the length of the lease. The only benefit to trading in the vehicle is the dealership doesn’t have to pay the taxes you would if you bought out the remainder of your lease so you have a little more equity (in my case about $3k) to negotiate with. But sometimes your upside down even without the taxes and then you might be lucky if they just take it off your hands. You can also roll the fees, etc into the length of the lease, I think the only think required is the 1st months payment at the beginning

Didn’t jump on it, but interesting data point to share. I got a 12/31 (end of year) for Acura base MDX.
Msrp - $51,245
Accessories: $1495
Discount: $1845
Total: $50,895

dealer is in FL. Might go back and purchase in Q1, but the market seems to be slowing down some in general.

That's a good price. Which dealership and what city is this ?
Congratulations on the brand new SUV !
Thanks! They asked me not to name them, but I will say they are one of the 3 Acura dealers in the East Bay Area (Concord, Oakland, or Pleasanton) 😉

Completely agree. Kinda weird, I remember when shopping for cars meant bargaining UP from INVOICE price. Now it's negotiating down from MSRP. sigh 🤔

I'll send you a photo of my purchase contract and odometer pic after my test drive (23miles) and you can verify for me 😉
