I am trying to tap into the line level signal between the Bose HU and the Bose amp so that I can use an external amplifier for the fronts and sub.

Originally I tapped in via inline splice connectors behind the head unit using this wiring diagram.

But the connections are poor. First, they keep coming loose. Second, there is significant engine whine. And finally, the wires are so thin I am worried that I could cut them if I re-splice.

Is there a wiring harness (Metra or similar) that can be used at the amplifier end (under passenger seat ??) where I can easily tap into the low level signal? I have searched and searched.

I do not want to grab the signal AFTER the bose amp, requiring an LOC, unless it's the "only way" to get a quality audio system.
