I reported this "potential" problem to the Acura service dept and got the same answer - "this is the normal sound of the fuel pump."
The noise is still there and it is getting louder. I am taking the car in for the 12000km service this week and I'll have them check again.
From what I observed, this seems to be a common problem, NOT "not a problem.":25:

Same old answer ....

Brought my X in for 12000km service, spoke with the Service Manager about the noise, he was quite concern and assured me that he will check it out. The result, same old same old, big electronic fuel pump, the whistling sound is normal. So may be it is really not a problem, but it is certainly annoying.
