Where to put trash

Okay,
This may be a bit extreme, but I'm curious as to what you folks have used for a "trash" container. I can use the coin tray for the smaller items, but I'm looking for something a bit larger ie napkins, papers (not newspapers) etc. Can't use the center due to rear AC.
Lookin for options!
TIA

Truthfully, I usually just toss it into the passenger side footwell (have winter mats) and then clean it out when I get home. I've got one of these, left over from my old truck. It might do the trick for you:

Behind Seat

I found an inexpensive soft plastic receptacle with replaceable trash bag liners that store in the bottom. It has Velcro straps that go around the front seat headrest support leaving the trash bag hanging on the back of the front seat. It is very handy for passengers in the rear and for the front passenger on the opposite side but it is not easily reached by the person sitting in the seat on which it is hung. I believe it cost about $8.00 at Wal-Mart and it looks and works pretty well. My model came in black which makes it particularly inconspicuous in Roadrunner's ebony interior.

What do I use?

I bought the ashtray for $31.00 for my garbage. I know it's alot of money for a garbage, but it's worth it to me.

More importantly, what about a wine bottle holder and what do you folks do with bags of groceries?
Groceries and Wine

The optional cargo net ($37.70 from Tim at Hondacurworld.com) does a good job holding grocery bags upright in the rear.
For the wine and gourmet goodies, we have a nice wicker picnic basket complete with wine bottle holder and an electric cooler that accompany us on all our outings.
I suspect that the all important goodies to fill the above are not a major problem in your home town.

thanks folks,
I was surprised how "cheap" that one from Herrington was. Might go that route or w/RR's
As for the wine, hmmm- that cargo net works for one. I wonder about those in the middle seat doors????
cargo net

roadrunner,

How much wear and tear can that net take? Others (non-MDX) have told me that they don't last very long. Now, I like that electric picnic basket!

Soesed,

It should last a few years. The only part which may give up is the bungee and you can buy standard stock replacement one at HD. I use ot heavily, even with the third seat up to prevent damaging the subwoofer. I also bought the same trash bag as RR.

Enjoy,
I tend to throw my trash in the door handle. And then I clean it out when I get home.
I throw mine out the window. Although sometimes that requires some skill. You have to roll down the window with one hand, while holding the trash in the other one. Then you must do it quickly enough, so it doesn't fly back in, which makes for an unpleasant surprise. And if you want to make your kids mad, just roll their window too before throwing the trash out of yours.

Kidding aside, the place where I get my MDX washed is giving out these little bags that I hang on the steering wheel's tilt lever. Very handy.
Cargo Net - Durability

So far my cargo net is holding up just fine after eight months of constant use. I leave it in place all the time.
Also, for clarification - the electric cooler and the picnic basket are separate items. Here's a picture of the igloo cooler. It also has an AC adapter to take into the hotel with you.

I'm with AtlantaMDX

The armrest on the door is a perfect little "trash tray". I just clean it out when I get home - the trash can is right next to my MDX in the garage. :D :D :D
I've got a pretty sound policy on this, based on canoeing up in the Boundary Waters - "Pack it in, Pack it out"
Our new MDX is 24 hours old.. and the trash issue was one of the first things I wondered about. I used a holder from Target with a long strap around the console. It's long enough so that the container is below the vents and controls...

4mel,

Congrats on the new ride! I'm glad you found a receptacle for your trash. You won't have time to think about that sort of stuff for a while. You'll be having too much fun driving you 'DX. Enjoy the ride! :D

Thanks. I haven't looked there. Amazing, we drive a 40K vehicle and look at Target and Wmart for trash bins. Not complaining at all, but interesting point!
I guess after laying out so much for the vehicle itself.. it doesn't hurt to look into "other options" and check the forums and see what other owners are buying.. and where.

Really getting to enjoy the MDX..

GG w/ navi / and other major items on order!
We have store in the area called Basket World - all kinds of wicker baskets and furniture. Found a round one, about 6-7" in diameter and about 8" high, natural beige color and with a flat bottom. We have the beige interior, so it fits right in. We put it in the center of the floor right behind the center console. Since the floor is flat, it doesn't tip over.
Trash container

I'm still trying to figure out the most clever way to store trash in my new MDX. I am also a believer of pack in/pack out as others mentioned, but I need something for those longer trips where you have to store things for hours at a time.

What clever solutions have people come up with for integrating in some type of trash receptacle that is somewhat inconspicuous looking, yet still functional? Any pics? So far my thoughs are that I can get something to clip onto the area right of the shifter and hang down on the passenger side off of the middle counsel.

Thanks
