I guess to answer that, anyone know for sure when the 2002 MDX came out onto dealer lots (or where available for order from factory)?

2002 model came in november 2001. I got mine in 2nd week of nov.01. maybe the first mdx in the dealer showroom. Salesman showed me the list , mine was at the top (#1) to be delivered.

one may expect 03 model to arrive in first 2 weeks of nov.02.?

'03 Releases

For most, usually around November. In order for the X engine to be "market segmented" away from the Ody mini-van's 240 HP, the '03's have been "confirmed" by at least one publication to have the the 3.8 litre. Perhaps 260-290 HP? More torque of course. Improved windshield. Adjustable roof racks. I still say a "Type S" will be created. Darn. Too early for a trade-in. So let us know in November how your X runs. 0-60 in 6.5! Who needs a jacked- up over-priced 5 series sedan?

Hey, let me tell you, I spent a whole summer in a 4.4 X5. There is a method to BMW's madness, trust me! But like they say in Europe "a 540i is much faster, handling worlds apart, better braking, better gas mileage, enough interior space...make you wonder about redefining over-the-top, doesn't it?"

Well hey, other say "you get 2 BMWs for the price of one in an X5. A damn capable SUV-thing, plus a sports car in terms of performance to boot (relative to other SUVs)".

I'm sorry, but an X5 with sports package is by far the best looking car out there with > 6 inches of ground clearance. Plus the quality is much higher than in ML. Brakes? Outstanding, no, really, they are. Spell-binding engine sounds. Awful gas mileage if you drive it like I did! ;-)

But alas, $55k doesn't even get you all the nice stuff.

Anyway, I most certainly plan for a 2003 MDX. My extended warranty on my current car runs out in October. Perfect!

Sucks. A long wait though from now! *SIGH* all is relative eh?
