Shopping for a 2016 MDX, so far, sold on AcuraWatch Plus, but weighing adding Tech or not. Looking at Acura site, it seems like the "warning" features such as rear cross-traffic and blind spot monitor are only part of Tech, despite the fact that these seem like safety features.

However, an article on What's New for 2016 on cars.com states:

AcuraWatch includes the following:

Adaptive cruise control
Collision mitigation braking system
Forward collision warning
Lane departure warning
Lane keeping assist
Road Departure Mitigation
Blind spot warning
Multiview rear camera
Rear cross-traffic monitor

Can anyone with a 2016 +AWP and no Tech let me know if this report is accurate?

Thanks!

@Nick718, the way Acura does AWP is really confusing. We recently purchased a 2016 AWD+Tech, and went through the same puzzle. As I understand it, the blind spot warning and cross traffic are not available with AWP. They are included in Tech, along with some other safety features like Collision warning, Lane departure warning. Hth.

I went to Acura.com and started building an MDX. It actually told me what was in each package. Some features overlap. That will certainly answer your question.

Kind of annoying that Blind Spot detection is not part of acurawatch plus. Seems like a such a useful feature as most last second highway swerves are due to blind spots.
