I tried a search but couldn't find any info (maybe I used the wrong search terms), but does anyone know how heavy the stock 17" alloy rims are on the MDX?

I'm looking at some new 18" rims that are 18.3 lbs each and was wondering if there was a significant difference than stock.

(BTW, the new rims are 18 x 8 (35 offset) with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern--so I'm assuming they'll fit the MDX.)

Each of the MDX stock rim (touring) model is 19.7 pounds. Usually if you buy aftermarket performance wheels for SUVs..if you stick with aluminum billet or alloys...these will be A LOT lighter..If you go with like the rugged SUV wheels then they tend to be heavier.

18 lbs per wheel is rather HEAVY for an aftermarket wheel.. What kind of wheels are they???

Thanks for the info. It's good to know that the stock 17" alloys are that light.

The wheels I was thinking about were 18" OZ Racing "Superleggera" (translation "Super Light")--these are actually known for being very light wheels. According to OZ specs these were the lightest style they had.

There was another style I liked too: the F1 Cup but they are about 5.5 lbs heavier.

Here's what they look like. (The Superleggeras wouldn't be white though, but Anthracite like the F1 Cups.)

Sorry to break this to 'ya but...

almost all wheels larger than 18" will be at least 24 lbs or higher. I've called different manufacturers (MasItaly, ACE, Akuza, etc.) all wheels i inquired about are 24 lbs or higher. I don't think you'll find 18" rims under 20 lbs. Even the expensive Fikse billet wheels weights heavy. Good Luck!!! Let me know if you find one.
