Below are the Weeping Mirrors TSB. Sorry for the quality. We will try to get a better quality document soon.

As always, thanks to Tim and TheWorm for getting these to me.

Merrill, you need to come in once in a while just for the bonding experience. Your Acura service department should be happy to fix the problem, warranty work is something every service department wants, ours wish they had more.
Hmmmm...sounds suspect.

Is this why I have so often received a car back from service with more problems than it went in with....creating job security? Bonding with the service department is something I have involuntarily had to do many times in the past. I can't tell you how much I don't want to get on a first name basis with the serivce manager again.
I guess this fix means I can discard my carwash mirror condoms? :p
Merrill

I could not agree with you more!
I have owned Toyotas primarily due to their excellent service record. OK I got burnt on the '90 4-Runner. After that I swore I would NEVER buy another first model year car again. Then came the MDX. My head was swayed by my heart and the fear that the 4-Runner would need another trip to the shop before the '02 X's came out. Anyway if there were some first year MDX problems, they wouldn't be fixed in one year anyway.

No offence Roger I'm sure I would enjoy to know you or any other person on this site on a personal level, but I am willing to pay a premium price for a vehicle just so I can stay out of the service shop. And, if I do need to bring it in, I don't want to go back again for them to get what they should have gotten right the first time. Nor do I want to return so they can play with something else that wasn't broke the first time. (God bless you Bell Teck :) )
got my baby back yesterday, took it straight to the car wash, its been 25 hours now with no weeping, this is great, that was the only depressing complaint that i had with the MDX , i sure hope it stays dry, good luck to everyone

Botny, did you take your 'X to Don Mealey or Fountain? Did you happen to catch the name of the tech who did the fix? I'd feel much better knowing my 'X was in the hands of an experienced surgeon :p BTW, let me know if you'd like to take your 'X off-roading. Some friends and I are planning to go back to the Withlacoochee State Forest some Saturday in November, still not sure exactly when though. Lots of wide open trails to explore, great fun with VTM-4 :)
Good news, Botny. Please keep us informed after each wash or shower to see if the X will ever be dripping or whipping. I will probably request mine be fixed at the next 7500 mile service, which is about another 2 months.

Thanks in advance.:)
so far no weeoing on my weeping mirror fix, its sure nice to get a wash and not have to worry about the weeping, has anyone else had the fix, if so how is the weeping?
dont take your x to don mealy for the fix on weeping mirrors, take it to fountain they do great work and they do it quick, its a pleasure doing business with fountain acura

...And, I have had many many cars that have gone into service for one problem, and came back with several more. So I am concerned it will happen again...
Merrill,
My horse is not that high but my experience is, which is contrary to yours. I cannot remember when I have taken a car to a dealer and had new problems occur as a result. My only problems with dealer service have been they don't always fix the problem on the first attempt which requires a return visit. I have owned over 20 vehicles in the past 25 years which may or may not compare with your vehicle ownership level. Thus, I sometimes take exception to statements made by folks in forum that contradict my own experience which is the case here. That's the issue, not world hunger, plus weeping mirrors don't bother me that much compared to many others. Acura has a TSB now to fix it so I will have it done when I take it to have driver seat shifting problem fixed.

Also my experience to date with Acura service has been exceptional so if your dealership in Utah is as good, maybe you won't be as reluctant to take it in. Having free and available loaners plus Saturday hours makes the service experience almost hassle free for me compared with other dealerships I have dealt with in the past. As Roger suggested, maybe a little dealer bonding might be a good thing.;)

MIRROR DRIP

DEALERS HAVE A FIX FOR IT AND 2002 MODELS DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM...
I HAVE REPAIRED A BUNCH AT ARE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD
NO ONE COMPLAIN ABOUT AIR NOISE AFTERWARDS............
Weep TSN & Seatbelt Nicks on Pillar

Had them both done at the dealer today. They said it the second one they performed and that it was pretty straight forward.

Had a real nice CL as a loaner too!

MB-
looks like it is fixed in 2002

Guess the good news is it is not a problem with '02. I decided to have some quality time with the 'X and took it for a rinse. Deliberately pointed the hose into the rear view mirror. Drove almost the whole day - did not notice any weeping.

I will still keep an eye though!!!
mirrors done

Had my weeping mirrors done about two weeks ago, and the drip is now gone, but I still get the spray. I am waiting for my 7500 service to take it back. Are there any suggestions that i should make to the dealer to help them get it right this time? thanks.
Has anybody in the SF east bay had their weeping mirrors fixed at either the Pleasanton or Concord Acura dealers? Any advice?
