It still hurts too much. I lost a neighbor and three friends. My life will never be the same. Neither will the lives of all those who lost a loved one. Make sure you tell those that you care about, that you "LOVE" them.
LOVE is the answer - NOT HATE.

Having always wanted to go to NY city and never been, I feel as though I will be missing something if I do. I am still bothered by the sights of 9-11 and maybe that is a good thing as it reminds me of what is really important, family, friends, and the time you spend with them. I really feel for the people who lost friends and loved ones on that day, my prayers are with you.

i myself will never forgive those terrorists and bin laden and saddam even when they ARE dead. Sikhism, a monotheistic faith established about 500+ years ago in India was created to stop the oppression by the Muslims on the Hindus in the area. Our religion's basic principles are as follows: God is One, Respect everyone, equality for women and men... but a major distinction is in the way we look. Our Tenth profit, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, gave us a distinct identity to differentiate us from Muslims and Hindus. In India, we were the saviors, the warriors, the protector of freedom. Hindus looked up to us and we wanted to differentiate ourselves. We are not allowed to cut our hair or shave and we also wear a turban. We keep our hair b/c it was God's given gift to us and we wear a turban again to differentiate ourselves and because back then all the kings used to wear turbans. After 9/11 though, many people (mainly white trash) but people nonetheless mistook us for muslims and terrorists and we have been facing problems ever since. Many Sikhs have been killed because of their appearance. I know this is a long post, but I would just like to get the word out and educate people so they don't mistake us for something we're not. We fought against the Muslims back then, and if the time comes again, we will fight against them again if they oppress anyone... For more information on Sikhism, please visit http://www.sikhs.org/topics.htm
Dear BLACK-BLING-MDX
First of all, you seem to be as prejudice as a lot of other people, who chose to generalize and stereotype other people just for their race. Sikh suffered more on the hands of Hindus not the Muslims. Read the history and you will know what I mean. Even during the Muslim Dynasty in India, majority of Muslims in India were living under the "Poverty", until now even. I read about some incidents about Muslims harrassing Sikh, but these were few and
Whether you admit it or not, the Sikh methodology took a lot of its teaching from Islam. And later had their own beliefs of not shaving because of Muslims or probably in spite of Muslims!!!

No religion is bad. It is the people who follow, or claim to follow a religion, that are the ones who are bad.

At this point, I can only say one thing. Killing is wrong. Regardless of race or religion.

Lets pray for all the people who died in that horrible day and pray that Bin Laden and his supporters will be brought to justice or probably die in the same horrible way. Say burn him in a 1000 degrees furnace like the one he created in the towers 2 years ago!

This is not a political Forum, but I though I should give my 2 cents.

I certainly agree that murder or unjustified homicide is morally wrong and is what Moses presented in the commandments more correctly translates to.

However, it would be very difficult for someone to convince me that killing someone that is directly responsible for grave harm to others is absolutely wrong. The life of the one bad soul in exchange for the life of many good souls seems like a good trade to me.

As far as I know most religions support capitol punishment or killing those that do murder.

Sikhs suffered more at the hands of Hindus than Muslims? Recently, yes that is absolutely true. Muslims and Sikhs have become better friends. Sikh are not against any religion, but I had to make the distinction between the two religions, and that was one of the ways I did it. I know some of the wording sounds stereotypical and prejudice, and I have many Muslim friends, and they are great people. I am not generalizing that all Muslims are bad! They are a great people, but what is being taught in the Middle Eastern countries to the Muslims is wrong. Hate America? Hate India? Hate Hindus/Sikh in Kashmir? Back then, what SOME Muslims did to Hindus and Sikhs was terrorism, and what SOME Muslims did was terrorism on the United States. Same idea, and I was just saying that the Sikhs are ready to defend the United States at any cost. We are ready. Sorry for the language that I used if it confused anyone or it sounded prejudiced. I am not prejudiced, but I am sad/mad about the history of our people and what happened. 1984 is a year I will never forget, the lives of the Sikhs were at the hands of Indira Gandhi, a Hindu lady, but should we hate all Hindus? NO! When her SIKH BODYGUARDS assasinated her, many Hindus went nuts and killed many Sikhs in the streets, raped them, tortured them and were just downright brutal to them. Now, after the riots, things have calmed down FamilyMDX, but in Punjab there is still tension, and something will happen soon, there will be another uprising against the oppression of India. Also, in the UK, Muslims are raping our women, killing and abusing our youth. Can I take that? NO! Are all Muslims bad? No. But something needs to be done, I am sorry if I generalized, it was not my intent, but sometimes when you are so passionate about something, you tend to say stuff that you don't mean and you take it too far. I am sorry.

Killing people like Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain is not wrong. That is the right thing to do because it will save a lot of lives. Islam denounces killing without right. Even a killer should not be killed without a trial. Execution should be done though a judicial party not an individual.
Also, BLACK-BLING-MDX, what you said about
but what is being taught in the Middle Eastern countries to the Muslims is wrong
is considered a stereotype. This is just propaganda.
I lived in the Middle East for at least 15 years and I was never told any thing bad about the Indians or any other race or religion. Probably about Israelis and them being occupiers, oppressors and killers of the Palestinians. But what the propaganda says to you and me is that it is Muslims that teach their kind to kill!
I remember the first thing we learned in school was that we should forgive. This may be weird but when I was in elementary school there was a story about the Prophet after opening Mecca. The pagans of Mecca tortured and killed the Muslims, harassed the Prophet, tried to kill him, broke his arm and used to block his way with rocks. Even though, he asked him about what should he do to them after entering Mecca, and some of them replied that he might kill them. But he told them that they should go free.
To make the story short, the real teaching of Islam asks for forgiveness.
The media is injecting these things to enforce their agenda.

.......it just seems like it was yesterday!.....and two years have gone by! MAY THE LORD BLESS OUR GREAT COUNTRY, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND KEEP OUR NATION STRONG AND SECURE FROM ALL IT'S ENEMIES!!.......as we all know, in the end, GOOD WILL PREVAIL AGAINST EVIL!!
Unfortunately, I think America must listen to the Lord before He will bless us. Instead, we are kicking Him out at every turn. Sad.

Individually though, God bless those who have been lost and those who continue to protect us from these murderers. May they have continued strength, wisdom, and good hunting...

Hi XStatic:

___Thank you for the link.

___Hhwc, you are entirely correct. America is not the God fearing and/or loving country that it once was. Given how New Yorker’s handled themselves on 9/11/01 as well as how they handled themselves during the 08/14 blackout, I have high hopes for America as a whole. We have all changed because of 9/11 and I believe for the betterment our nation in its entirety.

___To all. I was shaken to my soul on 9/11 when the Muslim terrorists took 3,016 lives (minus the Highjacker’s) as well as listening to the individual heroic and disheartening stories I have seen over the last 3 nights. I don’t know what to say other than being a Christian, I am supposed to forgive but being an American, I want Osama’s head as well as his followers for the world to see now more than ever! The one item we should all remember is that God has already offered his home to those that died that frightful day who believed and praying for them now will not change this fact. Prayers for the loved ones left behind who bare the burden of personal loss will hopefully provide solace to help throughout the rest of their lives here on earth.

___All prejudice aside, it is very hard for me to believe there can be Muslim’s teaching hate whether that be in Saudi, Pakistan, Europe, or even here in the US. Unfortunately, it appears as if this is exactly the case given what I have seen on some high profile TV specials last year. With this kind of teaching to Muslim youth and with the direct or indirect approval of foreign governments, what else can I do but be suspicious of Muslim’s? Why shouldn’t I be suspicious of Muslim’s? Please help me somehow cast aside my suspicions of those that practice this religion? I know it’s not the entire Muslim religion or peoples that are evil but there are countries, groups, individuals that have taken up such a radical hate and I know of no other way to deal with it other than to be suspicious and can only compare it to another form of Nazism? It may not be racial purity but religious purity has grown to be just as evil in my eyes.

___For those of the Muslim faith, I do not condemn you in any way, shape, or form. I do however hope you can help remove the teaching of hate the same way I would not stand for it if it were taught in the local schools my children have attended in the past, present, or future that I know of.

___I can only pray that someday I will find a peace of my own with the ability to forgive but as of this writing, I simply cannot.

___Good Luck to us all.

Bling and Family MDX,

As I respect your beliefs and religions, this thread was started as a tribute to those who perished on that awful day. Can you please take your conversation off line or start a new thread? This is not the thread to do it. Thanks for understanding.
