Well, I let the X run wild today.

I was doing 90mph with a 25mph crosswind (gusts up to 41mph) and this baby tracked straight with hardly any noticeable drift.....even WITH the front windows open. Other SUV's like Hoe's and Burbs were weaving all over the place.:D

Also, I repeatedly punched it from 60mph or 70mph to 80 and 90 and the engine responded incredibly well. We hear about the X's 0 - 60mph times of 8.0 or 8.1 seconds. Equally important is the at speed acceleration times, particularly for merging, etc. The X really performed.

I continue to be pleasantly surprised by the X the more I drive it and push it. :D

We experienced similar handling with our X on the way to DC a few weeks ago; tremendous gusty crosswinds, but very little reaction from the X -- you could feel it, and had to correct slightly, but certainly far less than in other vehicles we've had. Our cruising speed was ~72mph (you don't have too many chances to hit 90 on the east coast!)

BTW, the speedometer seems to be dead-on accurate when timing it with Interstate mileage posts using a stopwatch (formula is: mph = 3600/seconds per mile). Thus, 60 sec = 60 mph, 50 sec = 72 mph, etc. I've had other cars that were within a couple of mph, but this one is as exact as you can read it.

Impressive Stability

Really pushed it during some heavy crosswinds. Noticed some effect but amazingly little for a vehicle with that much front and side exposure. Don't see how Acura could improve on this.

Ah..

As me on my way to and back from Vegas.. the 15 was closed for
"strong wind ahead"..

Everyone was driving around 50.. cause the crosswind was strong..
(don't know how fast though..)
And.. guess what?

I was the only one drving at 85-90 !

My mom asked "Why do those ppl drive so slow?"

I just told her "Cause they all want to see my MDX"

Heh

All for Fun, and Fun for all!

VTec and Stable

Have had mine since October and have been lucky to experience it's stability during inclimate weather. My first month of ownership a ML320 tried to slice and dice with my X on the interstate. From 60-90 the X left the 320 in it's wake, the V-Tec kicks in like a turbo!
