I have some good scoop from an insider at American Honda about what's up and coming!!!

* Newly redesigned '03 TL, supposedly completely different from the current model

* Announcement of the Acura RDX for 2003, which is a cross between an MDX and an RSX, using the RSX platform. It will be all wheel drive, and will have incredible cargo space.

* Honda, along with the Pilot, will introduce an entry-level SUV currently called the Honda "X". It will differ only slightly, if at all, from the form in press photos (can't find one, although I know the links are out there)

* Dubbed as a replacement to the Honda Prelude, a new sports sedan will be built by Honda, a 4-door car built on the S2000 platform, and using the S2000 motor. Due out in mid-'03?

* With the new vehicles coming out, American Honda expects to increase total production by 40%.

Pic of the new RDX. Believe it or not, it won't differ a whole lot from this drawing!

Interesting. So the RDX will be Acura's "small" SUV, while the MDX is the "midsized" SUV. Sort of like how the CR-V is Honda's small SUV and the Pilot will be its mid-sized SUV, but both the CR-V and Pilot are "big for their class" (like the MDX).

Also interesting that the TL will be redesigned, meaning that Honda/Acura will release both the redesigned '03 Accord and the '03 TL (which shares its platform with the Accord) simultaneously. Similar to what Toyota/Lexus just did with the redesigned Camry/ES300.

I guess there's no word on improvements to the 2003 MDX yet, too bad.
