This is a great professional grade digital camera, ranked No. 1 by cnet.com and many other top reviewers. http://www.powershot.com/powershot2/G1/index.html

I bought this at Penn Camera in Washington, DC in July and the camera is in mint condition. It comes will all the boxes, papers, warrenties, excellent software etc (hence, this is not a grey market item). I paid over $800, I'll let one of you have it for $550 and buyer pays the shipping.

Needless to say, it is a great digicam which satisfies both the easy point-and-click photos as well as all out manual settings.

For what it's worth, I have this same camera and it is wonderful. I bought mine last year for X-Mas and it takes awesome pictures, great battery life and 30 second movies with sound. You will need to upgrade the memory chip to say 64MB or more, but a wonderful camera. I do believe that the price has dropped however, so I am not sure how great of a deal it is.

thanks for verrifying conman.

the camera still sells for $799 at e.g. amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...34933/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_7_1/103-3731671-0665423
(and they have it used for $699...)
I agree with conman

Sven,
It is a nice camera but it can be had brand new from an authorized Canon dealer for $527.50

Great camera!

I have this same camera. I bought it earlier this year . .and have gone nuts taking awesome pictures!! Literally, out of the box functionality is there!!
Very similar to a feel of an SLR camera, the G1/G2 come with custom controls, a hot shoe for an additional flash like a Speedlite300 (one is built in), the ability to add telephoto or wide angle lenses, the ability to add filters on the lenses .. yadda yadda!

It also features a 1.8" LCD that swivels . ..a bonus when you need to take that strange angle. Among many other features, for the price and the value .. this is a great camera!!!

Resolution is great at 640x480 (smallest) as well as 2048x1536 (largest). I bought a couple 128MB CF cards that lasts me pretty long .. say about 250-300 pictures using medium resolution (1024x768).

Caveat: Battery drains quickly . .especially when you have the LCD on all the time....suggest to buy 2 or three.

The sole reason I went with a digital camera is because I enjoy still pictures much more than video .. and when I did research for digitals . .this one came up on top most often.

There are a couple new ones on the market I have my eye on . .especially the Nikon CoolPix 5000 - 5Mega Pixels (Wow) Wh needs that . .anyhow..here are some samples I took on a recent trip with the MDX.....

Nxtr06 et al,

that web price is very, very good (kind of strange 'cause all major and smaller web outlets still sells the G1 for considerably more, it even goes for more than that on eBay)

The S110 is a nice camera, but it can't compare with a G1/G2. It all depends on what you'll use it for. If you just want point and shoot, them slam some photos in a email, the S110 will do dandy. If you're looking to print and like manual options as well as the 30 sec video (great feature!) the G1 is the way to go.

If you want to make me an offer, do so by email.
