Does anyone know a place in southern California where I can take my X go off roading? Or maybe somewhere between here and Vegas?

Thanks
Kevin

Hey Kevin, I've never been there but the Rincon Trail looks like a lot of fun. Here's a story from the CR-VIX from a while back where an MDX tagged along:

( http://ptcruiserusa.com/hondasuv/crvix/roadtrips/rincon2_nov00/rincon2_index.htm ) However, I think you need a special permit to go on that particular trail. Send Milano Bambino an e-mail and I'm sure he'll be glad to fill you in on the details of how to get the permit from the Cute Ranger.

Also, for lots of other trails in SoCal (and the rest of N.America and the world actually) check out this link:

( http://ptcruiserusa.com/hondasuv/crvix/roadtrips.htm ) The Santiago Trail and the National Angeles Forest look like a lot of fun. BTW, don't be lulled into complacency just because the CR-Vers may have been able to drive on those trails. Many of them have a lot of off-roading experience and the CR-V has the same ground clearance as the 'X but can maneuver in places that the MDX can't go do to its width. The width probably won't be as big a problem on California trails as it is on some of my favorite traiils here in Fla. There are lots of places I used to take my CR-V that are simply too narrow to take my MDX for fear of scratches :(

If you want to go off-roading in SoCal you should definitely post a message on the CR-V forum over at ( http://www.hondasuv.com ) cuz the SoCal gang over there would probably love to tag along. Plus they know where all the good trails are :)

Contact Forest Service

Kevin,

I would contact the US Forest Service. They have info on all the offroad trails.

Have fun!
