Sure does sound like us, huh...

But HOW can you be sure that they are talking about acuramdx and hondacuraworld...

Definetly low down and sleazy to say the least!!!

He also says this:

As an added bonus, I will also tell you how to connect to a wonderful MDX user group on the internet where you can ask questions and exchange ideas. There is a wealth of information for all MDXers there.
Obviously he is talking about acuramdx.org. What a loser, people shouldn't have to pay for this information.

Sounds like 'he' is a 'she": "ktjmom 's"

Of all her 22 transactions where there are comments, she has bought 21 items and only sold one item.

Selling the URL to this site and to Tim's site is like charging for air.

I guess she/he is selling information and it seems legimate?
I have also seen people on eBay selling more complicated information. For example, how to read DVD, convert the content into VCD. I also notice one person won an "informational" bid, then turn around to post a dutch sale on the bid he/she won. Does this like a chain letter?

hmmm...a borderline touchy subject I guess. As much as this is a "free country" and this person is within their rights to sell whatever information they hold, it tends to annoy certain people (enthusiasts here mostly, myself included) because we are so pationate about our vehicles. We are 100% eager and willing to pass along any information to a fellow member for no charge except to receive joy in extending a hand. And when we see those in search of this information and being charged for it as well...then it irkes us.

my .02¢

btw...I'm still not an MDX owner yet, but I am frequenting this board to acquaint myself with you guys before I place my order and take my delivery. =)

I guess the seller figures it's worth 3 bucks to find out about us and Tim (true). Maybe it's Daniel's (admin's) new revenue model :D (I actually know it's not him).

Then again, a simple Google for "mdx forum" pops this fine place as #2 on the list. Tim's place doesn't show up on the first couple of pages if you search for "mdx accessories" tho. But anyone could go to Edmunds or Yahoo groups and find us or Tim in pretty short order, I'd think.

Well, I s'pose there's nothing inherently wrong with brokering information that people can't/don't/won't find on their own. But it certainly does violate the spirit of the community we've created here.

Nonetheless, if anyone out there is thinking of bidding: I will beat that price. 2 bucks and the URL to here and hondacuraworld are yours! For your convenience, I accept Paypal.

Tim?

Tim, just to embarass this person, why don't you "sell" one at ebay, make sure you state your website and this group so actually they don't have to bid for 5 cents. Then say like you don't have to bid just click on the website....
Also the title should almost match his/hers so both will come out on search.:p

Or somebody from here can do it?

That's a great idea! I have to agree with TheWorm, if one owns an MDX and uses the Internet (including eBay), then more than sure they know about this or Tim's site. And if not, in the event that someone bids and wins on the auction, they will eventually get here, read this post, and ask for their money back from ktjmom.

It looks like the auction has been cancelled by the seller. They probably read these posts and realized what they were doing was wrong.

I registered yesterday, and thought I should lurk for awhile and see what is going on before I make a fool out of myself, but here's a perspective that does not seem to be represented here........I was brousing ebay yesterday, looking at the mdx items as I do daily, and see this new auction for information....... You can see a lot of stipid things on ebay, and this one jumped out, so I went to yahoo, typed in "mdx users", and this site was at the top of the list. Next thing you know I am registered and the newest member. The point is I would not have found this place without the help of this person who was trying to sell air. So he/she did a service in a way, don't you think?

Thanks

What's more scary is the thought of fools who would part with their money to buy some information from the Internet that they can get for free just by searching on the Internet.

A simple search for "mdx forum" on Altavista is all that you need :).

Just happened to read this here on Sunday (thanks Worm for sending the email). Funny enough, I know exactly who this is, and this person is a member of this board. Surprising from this person, but if they can make a buck or two from it, God bless them.

I'm not offended by it at all, in fact I myself am a bit flattered. I'm not going to reveal who this is, because they are a good contributor here.

Tim, have this person read some of the other comments posted.

Not so flattering.

But then again, hmmmm, say, I know a great way to get discounts on Zaino products. $2.99 and an email gets you the information.

Hey, what's wrong if this guy/gal wants to make some money off selling some information.... If someone wants to buy it, he/she is willing to pay. Isn't it called free economy where the price of anything (service or good) is determined by what the buyer is willing to pay and the seller willing to sell?? It aint any different than Roger's dealership trying to sell MDXs at 4K over sticker.

PS: It's not me who posted it on EBAY.

True, I guess it's someone's right but it's kind of similar to this:

Visitor is lost in a city and sees a person (let's call him "Ebay") on the corner. Visitor says "I'm lost, can you help me?" Ebay says "sure, for a dollar". Visitor decides to pay so that she can make her meeting on time. Ebay makes money from typically free info. Ebay is within his rights but maybe not someone you want as your best friend.

Howcome the prices listed on the auction is less than wha'ts advertised on hondacuraworld.com. For example, the shift knob is listed as $79, but the site has it for $88?

MDXTrous:

Had you had paid the $3.99, you would have gotten the discount :)

Tim: Are you the one who posted that on ebay??? Now, I am getting curious.
