Silver Powdercoated Acura Sidesteps on Black

Inspired by Rail's fine rig, I finally received and installed my silver powdercoated Acura steps. Color matched with the Touring wheels. Took about 6 weeks for the cross-country trip from Tim to the powdercoater, then powdercoating (they were really busy), then back to me.

We went for Acura's rather than the Maniks as I thought they were a bit more understated, and the MDX is, afterall, primarily TheWife's car and she didn't want the "more aggressive" look of the Manik chromes. Cost about ~$325 for the powdercoating -- they did a great job, and even powdercoated all the brackets and bolts!

Looks great with the accompanying Zaino shine on the ride :)

Nice

Very nice. I can tell from the picture you are using Zaino!!:)
Worm,

That looks great. The shine, the side steps. Very cool!
WOW ! You ROCK !!!
Those look super
Nice, Worm! That's incredible detail in that reflection, like mirrored sunglasses for your car!
Bravo!!!

Great... wish I could get mine to shine like that... I'll have to spend some time on her next week ;)

The steps look excellent with the touring wheels.

Enjoy!

All the best.

Rail
Excellent!! They class it up nicely!

(HI RAIL! Long time no hear from!) :)
So where do I get these side steps I just placed an order for an 03

Wow, those sidesteps. look awesome. How do I obtain a set I just placed an order on an 03 as my Tahoe lease will end in August.
Call Andrews Powdercoating, where Rail & I had it done. www.powdercoater.com. Call and ask for Scott (owner) and tell him you have an MDX and want the steps powdercoated to match the wheels like mine and Rail's. He will remember us and has the color codes on file under our names.
Order the Acura OEMs from Tim @ www.hondacuraworld.com and have them shipped direct to Andrews.
Will probably join you but ...

... I have a question I hope you can answer. I ordered the steps from Tim last week and they are due in in a few days. I found a couple of powdercoating places here in Houston that have reasonable prices. But one of them asked a question I can not answer.

Are the OEM steps PAINTED black or are they POWDERCOATED black. I have seen them in the showroom, but I did not pay that much attention to them. Apparently it is easy to apply PowderCoat on top of old PowderCoat, but Paint will need to be chemically or abrasively stipped first.

Help: What type of finsh does the OEM steps have?
I had thought the originals were powdercoated, *but* I also know that the guy Rail and I used stripped them before powdercoating. My steps were shipped direct so I haven't seen them in their original state to know for sure. No doubt your local peeps will be able to tell once they see the steps...
Thanks

Yea they said they could tell by looking at them.

They look very nice, I'm thinking of doing when I add some type of Bull Bars by JAOS. Then the bars would match the side steps.
