This morning my daughter, who is visiting from Florida, dropped me off at work in RoadRunner because her Chevy POS is in the shop. I had a very strange empty feeling as I watched my SS X drive off ......... and then it hit me. This was the first time in our fourteen months together that RoadRunner has ever gone off without me. Others have driven her with me in the vehicle but never without me (my wife is disabled and does not drive).
An obvious case of parental seperation anxiety.:(
So this made me wonder - are there any other "one-driver" MDXs out there??

I have this feeling, most every morning, when my wife pulls out of the driveway in the "X"....... I just look out the window and wave "bye" to it :( ..... and oh yes, bye to my wife too...:p

Yep, I feel exactly the same way when my wife drives the 'X without me. I just cringe at the thought of where she may be parking it :p Fortunately, this has only happened on a couple of occasions (when her own car is in the shop).

I also have the "opportunity" to watch my wife pull away in the DX each morning to leave for work as I crawl into my four cylinder Camry. Sometimes life is just so unfair. I get to pay for the DX and she "lets me" drive it on the weekends - sometimes. I also cringe when she tells me she is going to the mall since she always drives around for 15 minutes to find the closest parking space, even when the sign says Compact Cars only. That's like fitting 10 pounds of c*** into a 5 lb. bag. What I really feel like doing is running three seperate strips of body sid emolding down the side of car on both sides for extra protection.

Now how's that for seperation anxiety - sounds more like manic depression if we are talking clinical diagnosis !!!

I guess I'm lucky. My wife refuses to drive the X. Can't even get her to set her FOB memory for seat, mirror adjustments. She insists that she prefers being a passenger, and uses her Altima for bummin' around (read: shopping) town anyway, 'cause she's too afraid she'd be the first one to get it dinged...So, my X knows only one driver, and that's me!

Hold on -- my son just called from Montreal to let us know he's coming out for March break, and the first thing he asked was if he could borrow the machine during the weekend; calls it a definite chick magnet. Tried to convince him that Daytona Beach is the place for March break (don't need a chick magnet there), but he wants to come here, so I may yet feel that separation anxiety.

I hear you, boys. The point is, I tried to convince him to fly 2000 miles south to Daytona Beach vs. 3000 miles west to Calgary. Until owning the X, this would have been a no-brainer for me; now that I've got the X, I can see how he'd prefer 2 weeks in the snow vs. 2 weeks in the sun.......
