I can't seem to find a thread on this issue, but my alarm remote already has scratches on it after five days of use. It is on a ring with five other keys and I carry it in my front pocket. At this rate, it'll look horrible in a month. I can't think of any possible preventive measures I could take besides carrying it seperately from everything else, but that would be a pain. I hope someone out there has some ideas before it's too late.

IMHO ... use the remote, enjoy the X, live with the scratches.

If this isn't acceptable to you, then:

(a) Only put the X ignition key on the remote and "treat with extreme care".

(b) Buy an additional remote so you can have one without scratches [e.g. use one, have one, sorta like the 2 pieces of cake saying].

Actually if you go to some of the aftermarket specialty shops in Redlands, Los Angeles and Garden Grove....You will find leather/vinyl covers for your remote like you do for your cellular phone.

I really am not worry about the remote since I bought an extra for a spare but if your insists that you dont want to scratch the remote...You may want to look into it.

Just ask for alarm remote leather covers and they should know what you are talking bout. Good luck!
