In California, the sales tax rate was increased by 0.25% for 2002. I read in one of the previous threads that someone had signed a sales contract for the MDX in 2001 with a delivery date scheduled for 2002 and that the dealer said that the sales tax would be based on 2001 rates. I also had a contract dated 7/'01 and I was just notifed that my MDX will be available in 2/'02.
The finance person said that the sales tax would be based on 2002 rates, since the vehicle was not available until 2002. Is this correct, even though I signed contract in July, 2001?
