Hey All -

Wanted to get some input if I could....both the drivers side and passenger side front seats are not smooth in their operation of going forward (towards windshield) and backwards (towards back seat) - they will move but its a very rough movement almost like the seat is sliding on rocks.

There's nothing obvious in the tracks, I've checked that. I thought about spray lubricant but wasn't sure if WD-40, Silicone Grease or something else was recommended....if its not a lubrication problem any other ideas?

Thanks

Probably a combination of wear and a build-up of dirt on the tracks.

Remove the seats and clean the tracks. Compressed air helps. Then a light coat of WD 40 and re-install.

Yes to remove/clean/lube. Whatever the problem is (other than worn out gears) that'll fix it.

I'd personally use something a little more robust than WD40 though - it contains almost no lubricant. I like a think coating of synthetic grease for an application like this (as long as you have it out anyway).
