This is an 18 cubic ft Jegs rooftop unit. It says it requires the crossbars to be 24” apart. Which they are.

This is my first time using a rooftop box like this and it just seems like the nose of the unit would be getting too much wind underneath if that makes sense?

Or am I over worrying..?

Thanks in advance!

Or....

You were right in your assumption that it will have too much windage, noisy, hurting mileage, and its a piece of crap. Return it and buy something better. This roofbox is for 20 year old subaru outbacks

You even thanked me in advance.
Sorry I still don’t see where I asked for your opinion. But after some further research it will actually do just fine as is on placement!

Not a chance I’d overpay for a Thule unit. If I used it every single day I would maybe give it a few seconds of thought. I’ll stick with this Jegs unit. Has over 200 5-star reviews!

Thanks guys!

Thank you for the replies (y) I’ll see if it meant they had to be “exactly” 24” apart or just “at least” 24” apart. I could be mistaken which would make more sense. If I can push the front crossbar forward ~8” I would feel a lot better.
