Alors, de ma part --- put down a deposit on Jan. 31 on DE Pearl, was told end of May delivery. Bought it from Northwest Acura of Calgary, Alberta. Car show coming up this weekend at the Stampede Grounds; sure to see the MDX there. Hey, if it's a DE, it might even be mine!

Canada

I asked for this so here I am.

Have order in for MDX since beginning of February and told June - July delivery. Toronto area.

Here is a question on Canadian models: Do we need the whole expensive towing rigs for mounting a bicycle carrier or merely a hitch ball? The Canadian brochure seems to indicate that trailer preparation is on the and only a hitch needed.

Anyone know this?

Oil change

In Canada, we have to use the severe maintenance schedule: oil change every 6000 km. On April 13, I took possession of my Beige MDX. The service manager told me that I only need oil change every 8000 km. Is that you were told? I am from Quebec, we have very long winter.

I think you should stick with the schedule mentioned in the manual. Especially that the first 2 maintanance appointments are totaly free for Canadian owners! Make sure you take advantage of this.

Mac,

How'd you get the "auto up" feature? Did you get the "auto up/down" on all windows?

Ordered MBeige from Acura Optima in Quebec City in late February, took delivery May 2nd as planned. Excellent buying experience, no pressure whatsoever from the dealer.

After 2 weeks, so far so good, nothing unusual, many people asking questions about the MDX

I live in Willowdale. We have a small aftermarket performance auto parts company. We sell one touch up and down modules for most power window systems. I had four modules installed in my MDX and now have one touch up & down capability on all four windows. We are also dealers for the Poron backup warning device if any of you are interested.

The window modules com from a company called Advanced Automotive Technologies. They cost $69 each. They are little black boxes that install behind the switches at each door. They are fairly straight forward to install. I didn't install the ones in my MDX but the installer said it was pretty easy.

Is there a phone number or web site for Advanced Automotive Technologies?

Stolen part

I took possession of my Beige MDX on Friday 13 last April. I am not supertious! 10 days ago I noticed one of the two chrome decorative end pieces of the tail pipe was missing. My dealer replace it without any problem and at no cost for me. They told me that these pieces were frequently stolen on other Acura model. Do you have comments on that.

That's US$35. The price I put up was CDN$ and f.o.b. Toronto.
