Taking a roadtrip from Pa to Myrtle Beach SC, are the troopers in Virginia as unforgiving about the speed limits as I have heard, I know I can't use the Escort down thru Virginia, I hear the town of Emporia on I 95 is one big speed trap.

I-95 in VA can be troublesome - I would set it to 9 over and leave it - there are plenty of people that fly through but there are also plenty of VA troopers. If you really need to get it up to 80 - just take I-295 around Richmond and you'll hit one of VA's first 70 mph speed limit zones.

I'm going to tell you very clearly and precisely. DO NOT GO OVER 80 IN VIRGINA AND DO NOT GO MORE THAN 20+ PSL. NEVER EVER!!!!

Also, the ticket for a your escort is much less that a ticket for C & I in VA. Try not to spend any money in that state or give Helligina any taxes.

Agreed on 295 over 95. Virginia's troopers are legendary with their reputation for tickets. The problem is there are woods in the median with cut outs for "Official vehicles only" where the cops can hide and go to the other side.

My advice is to make sure there's always a car in front of you and make sure they don't slam on their brakes when passing one of those cut outs.

Just got back from my round trip from Phila area to Myrtle beach SC,

Delaware- no troopers to be found both ways
Maryland- no troopers to be found both ways
Virginia- way down, near Emporia, no less than 10 troopers, kept the
speed at around 70 thru Virginia, way home, no troopers at all ?
North Carolina- no troopers seen way down or way back
South Carolina- no troopers seen down or way back

My average speed was between 80-85, except thru Virginia and it was
tough doing the PSl as almost all the cars were blowing by me, In the other states, again my Escort was quiet and nothing to be seen at all, unusual if
you ask me.

That is unusual, especially with it being a holiday weekend.

I usually go with traffic in Virginia but make sure there's at least one car ahead of me. Some radar detectors are invisible to radar detector detectors, including a Uniden I formerly had. We would use it in VA but take it down whenever a cop was around going our way.
