Looking to add some side steps to my GG MDX but I cannot decide between the Factory and the Manik. I already decided I want black. Just Looking for pics of black Maniks and input as well.

Those are the Maniks, right?

Yep Those are maniks...You can tell by looking at each of the side steps' ends. They bend inward.

I'm glad you posted thos pics. I thought I was doing something wrong when I installed them, but yours stick out as far as mine do.

Also, do you notice a little play in the steps? I have to go back and retighten the screws every once in a while (month) I am thinking of lock-titing(sp?) them.

Thanks for the pics they helped a lot. I actually decided to go with the factory steps (from Tim of course) as they look more stealth and provide some protection from swinging car doors (my main reason for adding the side steps). The Maniks, while much cheaper, stick out just too much for me.

Now to find some place to powder coat them Granite Green.

I'll post some pics of my MDX once I get them installed so ya'all can see what I have doem to my beast.

18" wheels are next on my wish list.

Just curious, it seems if they stick out further they would provice more body/door protection. I guess you mean from an aesthetics viewpoint.
My luck, an adjacent door will hit between the steps and the body molding.

Yep, aesthetics. They only hav to stick out from the body just a bit to offer some protection and I do not want to keep brushing my pants against them and pick up dirt.
I stopped by my Acura dealership and they have an MDX with the factory steps. They stick out just enough to offer some protection but still look somewhat stealth. The Maniks although less expensive are just too much for me.

I might try and get them powder coated granite green if I can find someone that can do that color. I like my vehicles to be as monochromatic as possible.

I'm also considering installing black Maniks on my white MDX. I think black would offer a good contrast to the white color and they are much less expensive. But, I'm concerned about them sticking out too much. The Acura factory side steps are more subtle looking than the Maniks. I also like the additional stepping room that the Maniks offer.

Has anyone had a problem with getting their pants dirty from contact with the Manik side steps when exiting?

Is there a white MDX that has black Maniks installed?
