I am not sure it is really a "problem", besides, posting in the General folder usually gets better results :)

Anyway, driving under overpasses on the highway, under the el in Brooklyn and under various other "obstacles" throughout, I have noticed a weakening or even lost radio signal. It is especially felt during AM reception, but even FM radio also loses "stereo" and/or adds noise.

Although easily explained based on the laws of physics, I do not recall similarly bad bahaviour from my previous car radios. It almost feels like antenna is broken or something similar.

Any similar experience out there??? Any suggestions?

I am reluctant to just "show up" at the dealer with this question - they would look at me like I am crazy AGAIN. Although I have nothing bad to say about the quality of their work, this "suprised look" on their faces starting with me reporting about thud and going all the way to leaky mirrors - which they did NOT hear of!!!! (3 weeks ago) and could not download TSB from Acura because their computers were down!!!.....
Anyway, I cannot take another "Are you for real" look.

Thanks in advance.

On all the cars I had, everytime I went under an overpass, I did lose signal on the radio. I think this is quite normal ... unless I had a problem with all my prior calls, or it's prevalent only in the SF Bay area.

I know mine would loose the station just driving down the road. I would have to turn the radio off than on to get it back. Dealer has a new roof assembley on order.

I have a problem with my FM reception here in California. The station I usually listen to is very strong and usually can pick up anywhere. I now hear static like Im losing the station, and this is in open areas away from mountains. Other stations do the same. I am going to have the dealer look at this the next time I have a chance to bring it in.

Someone else on this forum had a similar problem, but their reception improved if the radio was turned off then on. Mine doesnt improve if I do this.

I didn't experience it until I got behind some foothills, or near a broadcast tower. Notice you have a Navi, as do I. Hmmm, I wonder if this has any effect.

I don't, but come to think of it, I have similar "static" noise. Often very faint - I actually think to myself that I am "hearing things" :)

Has anyone tried the new XM satellite radio receiver that you can add to your factory radio? If so, what do you think of it?

I am considering purchasing either the XM or Sirius satellite radio receiver, especially if we find the stock radio has poor reception in our area.
