In the olden days one needed to pump the gas pedal a few times before starting a car. About 10 years ago I was told you do not need, nor should you, pump the peddle before turning the key. Should you on the MDX?

No, you don't do that on fuel injected cars. The pedal-to-the-floor or pumping was to set the choke open on carbureted cars.BorisSWort said:Should you on the MDX?
The manual states that you shouldn't push the pedal before or during starting unless you live in a high altitude area. (then you want to press the gas in halfway while starting)
