Changes to order

I'm no dealer, however, I believe that the way things work is that the dealer hasn't actually 'ordered the vehicle' for you. Each dealer is allocated a certain amount of vehciles with specific options and colours.
In the meantime, the dealer is already 'pre selling' these vehicles and they are just matching up their existing alotment with their pre solds.
This is why a August '01 order date with a Jan/Feb '02 delivery date seems long to me, however, they probably had a few more 'pre solds' to delivery first.
I ordered my '02 SS MDX in September and have already picked mine up.
The dealer may be able to post your order to another vehicle with NAV with a later delivery date, however, that may screw up this alotment.
Unlike domestic orders, I don't think your dealer can make option or colour changes to his designated alotment.
Then again, who knows! Best wishes for the Holiday Season!!!

Chuck, if you make changes you should go back to the bottom of the list. We cannot call and say we want to change something, once we get our allocation, thats what we get. The reason your order is taking several months is because there are several people ahead of you wanting the same model or your dealer just don't get many. If you change your order its like starting over.

(1) does the date/time to build sound correct?

(2) since the dealer said it won't be built til Jan, I figure I ask to change my order to add Navigation system, but he said can't do that. Isn't a Navigation System easy for them to add or to change an order?

My understanding on the term "production build" is that the dealer has submitted your order to Honda and your dream car is on the schedule to be built... Navigation is the part of the manufacturer built items and is totally integrated with the car, so it is not like buying something extra to add it in. It is not even the item that the dealershop can add themselves.
