PROBLEM WITH Tim @ Hondacuraworld -- Who am I Kidding?...

Hello MDX members---
I am sorry to report that I am disturbed with my recent dealings with Tim Poliniak at Ray Laks Honda....
After lurking for a couple months on this board, I became overwhelmed with the glowing praise being showered on Hondacuraworld and Tim.... and in good faith I decided to order a number of items (BSM/RunningBoards/AirDeflector/ShiftKnob/WTfloorMats/SplashGuards) from Tim on 12/04/01 via the internet.

Here's the problem....

I ordered these goods with the assumption that Ray Laks Honda runs their business in the manner of most other businesses today -- "...we'll get to it when we can," "...don't worry, it'll be there soon...," "sorry... but that part is backordered and won't be in the country until XXXXX"..... I WAS WRONG.

Today, 12/07/01, the UPS Truck arrived with all my goods -- nicely boxed, and in a nice pile by my back door.

I AM FURIOUS.

Our MDX is enroute from Canada, and will not be here until next week....
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? How am I supposed to handle the anticipation?

Am I now supposed to expect similar treatment from other businesses. BAH !!! I know better.... Tim can try to trick me -- but I know better --- it's a conspiracy, I tell you !!

I have to go now.... and I hope I have the concentration to forget these dealings so I can finish work on the Flux Capacitor for the new MDX........

Wow,

You may be the first business I've come across that the "worst complaint" is your service was early!!!!!

I know with the various parts I have ordered, absolutely great help and quick delivery....not to mention a good price. I also appreciate some of the e-mailed info you have given me in researching trans/PS coolers. Wish may local dealer cared half as much...maybe even a 1/4.....

For those with money in the pocket, Tim is the guy to go to:D :D

HypoDenny - hmmmm do I sense a ton of sarcasm in the thread title??

Obviously you have learned that Tim is an Excellent source of parts & provides superior customer service:D :D

I guess you'll have to get used to it!:)

I think we're going to have to resign ourselves to the fact that not everyone will provide service with the same quality and integrity that Tim does. That's the real problem here!

... and what about all those boxes that say "Instructions not included, see your dealer" and sure enough, there are instructions inside!

We can no longer trust what we read on the boxes. What is this world coming to?

Hi All --
Yes, of course I am being sarcastic with my complaining on the merits of Tim and Ray Laks Honda....

FWIW, I try to run my own business (refurbishing and selling IBM ThinkPad laptop computers) in the same manner that Hondacuraworld operates.... it's just rare (in my experience) to find larger established businesses (especially automotive) that try to differentiate themselves from the pack. Tim has obviously done an outstanding job for Ray Laks -- and I am sure his positive efforts are noticed by his managers. I just found it more fun to inject a little sarcasm in complimenting Tim, rather than the standard "he's great"..... hope it didn't confuse too many viewers...

p.s. the Flux Capacitor is nearly finished......

Tim has been G R E A T. I also ordered my parts a little ahead of the car being delivered so I would have all here ready to go. Good idea. Service was great, I ordered the goodies on Thursday and all were delivered the next Monday. When it was discovered that the 2001 roof rack was not the correct part for the 2002 he issued a UPS call tag. No questions - no problems. When the 2002 racks arrive he will ship it to me.

Great job Tim - keep up the good work !!:D :D

Hmmm ... it took me a full 3 readings to understand what the complaint was .... Thanks Tim, for you excellent service. I got my side steps, BSMs and cargo net exactly when promised. Extremely pleased with the service.

Is everyone using the "Cone of Silence?" because I think Tim can hear us...

By the way, UPS tracking says I'm getting my BSM (Body Side Mouldings) tomorrow... Finally, one more night and the nightmares will stop!!! With Acura's Granite Green BSM issue(not Tim's fault), I waited longer for these to come in than I did for the MDX... But I must say, Tim's a great guy- he let me have the BSM below MSRP and without "forced options."

So, can I have the Title of "Longest wait for an accessories from Tim?" or at least let me have "Longest wait for BSM?"

Ordered BSM 11/7 - Delivery 12/11 (according to UPS)

*Did I mention that Tim hung up on me? I remember that moment in time as clearly as if it happened just two week ago. Oh wait, it was two weeks ago- November 28, I got it circled on my calendar. Yes sir, all I said was "November cargo liner special" and the next thing I know, "CLICK!" On top of that, he gave me the old "power went out... blah, blah blah" excuse. :D

RE: the Flux Capacitor

Have you thought to update this with current technology? It would be much more efficient if you use Borg incrypted temporal shieding to emit a level 7 Tacheon beam to travel through time. Oh, and don't forget to reroute auxilary power to the main deflector shields.

I know that wouldn't work on my crappy old time machine. But what do you expect, it's shaped like an old English phone booth :D

i too, ordered BSM and running boards from tim. when i was ordering the accessories, there was a battery acid spill from a delivery guy and it melted/damaged a bunch of stuff. i don't know how tim does it, but my goods were on my front porch the next day. great. a half empty garage with a volvo on one side and BSMs and running boards partially assemble on the other. i had to ogle the BSM color to imagine if we ordered the right color (based on a 2x2 chip) for 5 days until the x came in.

Whew !!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been on here for a few days with Christmas and remodeling my kids' room (too busy :( ), but I get on this thread and read the title of this thread. Boy HypoDenny, I was about to get irate with you. My heart was pounding, thank God I read on. I've dealt with Tim and had nothing but good results. I've been so happy with Tim and he also takes some time in his busy day to talk to you like he's known you forever. I'm glad you think he's great too. Sorry to hear your stuff came in before your MDX. I know that can be frustrating, but it will be here soon and you will be happy. Good luck putting your accessories on and let us know how they look. :D
